Work closely with the founders, Research and Product teams to shape the content mission, vision and strategy.
Take full ownership of content discovery, creation and publishing. Ensure our content is high quality, easy to understand and relevant to Data Scientists working with ML in production.
Build a content backlog by doing independent research about ML monitoring and participating in Research and Product team meetings to capture insights discovered by them.
Turn raw insights into great content. Write core content, create interactive visualizations and code to ensure NannyML becomes uncontested thought leader in ML Monitoring.
Manage the content calendar and publishing process together with the growth team to maximize the reach of our content and the engagement of our audience.
Collect insights about how our audience interacts with the content to improve the content strategy and inform product decisions.
Help develop new internal tools, frameworks, and processes to facilitate content discovery, creation and publishing.
Requirements
Portfolio of successful and advanced Data Science content, including written longform content like blogs.
Deep theoretical and practical understanding of Machine Learning, including hands-on experience developing production-ready ML algorithms in Python.

Millions of people experience real-life adventures with our apps. We help users all over the world discover the best hiking and biking routes, working to empower everybody to explore more of the great outdoors. And we're good at what we do: Google and Apple have listed us as one of their Apps of the Year numerous times --- and we are consistently ranked amongst the highest-grossing apps in both Google Play and the App Store.\n\nTo help us continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced software engineer who appreciates well-crafted and unit-tested code and knows how to deploy and monitor services in production. But that's not all. We're looking for someone who welcomes data challenges and tackles these head-on; finding and implementing the best solution through effective research and evaluation. Someone who understands that no single solution is perfect, accepting instead that it'll improve with every optimization iteration. Sounds familiar? Then komoot is the place for you.\n\nWe are looking for an experienced backend engineer to help us solve a range of challenges, including image quality classification, the matching of user-generated content with open data, e-bike battery level predictions and the improvement of our recommendation systems.\n\n**Your key responsibilities**\n\n- Implement new features closely together with our web and mobile developers, designers, copywriters and product managers.\n\n- Develop and tune algorithms to leverage our content recommendation, rankings, content analyses and product smartness.\n\n- Build new and improve existing micro-services, primarily in Java/Kotlin and Python.\n\n- Use the AWS ecosystem to build resilient and high-performing systems.\n\n**Why you will love it**\n\n- You'll work on a global product that inspires millions of users.\n\n- You'll get system access on your first day, as we know you are a smart and responsible engineer.\n\n- You'll take ownership over your projects from day one (from concept to implementation; testing, deployment and monitoring).\n\n- Your challenging tasks will keep improving your skills and keep you up-to-date with the latest technologies.\n\n- We have a wide range of diverse challenges, in particular in the GIS domain.\n\n- We believe good ideas count more than hierarchies.\n\n- You'll work together with enthusiastic engineers, hikers and cyclists.\n\n- You'll travel together with our team to amazing outdoor places several times a year to exchange ideas, learnings and go for hikes and rides.\n\n- We let you work from wherever you want, be it a beach, the mountains, our headquarters in Potsdam or anywhere else that lies between the time zones UTC-1 and UTC+3.\n\n**You will be successful in this position if you**\n\n- Are highly self-driven, responsible and keen to learn and improve.\n\n- Know your toolkit: git, ssh, bash, junit, jenkins and docker.\n\n- Have deep experience (4+ years) in developing software running under high load\n\n- Possess professional experience in Java and Python.\n\n- Have demonstrable knowledge of common algorithms within the machine learning and statistics space.\n\n- Have strong analytical skills.\n\n- Love to tune, test, simulate and evaluate solutions to unusual problems.\n\n- Live and breathe DevOps and believe in automated testing, infrastructure as code, continuous deployment, monitoring and open communication.\n\n**Sound like you?**\nThen send us the following:\n\n- Your CV.\n\n- A write-up explaining who you are and why you are interested in working at komoot.\n\n- Examples of your work (e.g. GitHub, PDFs, Slideshare, etc.).\n\n- Something that shows us a little more about what you're interested in, be it your Twitter/Kaggle account or your blog. \n\nPlease mention the words **DOVE FALSE ANOTHER** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4yMDQ=). Millions of people experience real-life adventures with our apps. We help users all over the world discover the best hiking and biking routes, working to empower everybody to explore more of the great outdoors. And weโre good at what we do: Google and Apple have listed us as one of their Apps of the Year numerous timesโand we are consistently ranked amongst the highest-grossing apps in both Google Play and the App Store. \n\nOne key driving factor to our growth has always been our understanding that a technological approach can provide an outdoor experience far beyond the possibilities of traditional services. On the one side, we collect, combine and process various open data sources (such as OSM and Wikipedia) and turn raw data into easily accessible information and understandable products, such as our easy-to-use outdoor route planner. On the other, we leverage the wisdom of our vast user base and use crowdsourced data for personalized, local outdoor recommendations. Now, with your strong analytical skills and your passion for building well-crafted and tested code, weโll leave traditional, standard solutions even further behindโand weโll truly change the way people explore.\n\n**Your key responsibilities**\n\n- Implement new features closely together with our web and mobile developers, designers, copywriters and product managers.\n- Develop and tune algorithms to leverage our content recommendation, rankings, content analyses and product smartness.\n- Build new and improve existing micro-services, primarily in Java/Kotlin and Python.\n- Use the AWS ecosystem to build resilient and high-performing systems.\n\n**Why you will love it**\n\n- Youโll work on a global product that inspires millions of users.\n- Youโll get system access on your first day, as we know you are a smart and responsible engineer.\n- Youโll take ownership over your projects from day one (from concept to implementation; testing, deployment and monitoring).\n- Your challenging tasks will keep improving your skills and keep you up-to-date with the latest technologies.\n- We have a wide range of diverse challenges, in particular in the GIS domain.\n- We believe good ideas count more than hierarchies.\n- Youโll work together with enthusiastic engineers, hikers and cyclists.\n- Youโll travel together with our team to amazing outdoor places several times a year to exchange ideas, learnings and go for hikes and rides.\n- We let you work from wherever you want, be it a beach, the mountains, our headquarters in Potsdam or anywhere else that lies between the time zones UTC-1 and UTC+3.\n\n**You will be successful in this position if you**\n\n- Are highly self-driven, responsible and keen to learn and improve.\n- Know your toolkit: git, ssh, bash, junit, jenkins and docker.\n- Have deep experience (4+ years) in developing software running under high load\n- Possess professional experience in Java and Python.\n- Have demonstrable knowledge of common algorithms within the machine learning and statistics space.\n- Have strong analytical skills.\n- Love to tune, test, simulate and evaluate solutions to unusual problems.\n- Live and breathe DevOps and believe in automated testing, infrastructure as code, continuous deployment, monitoring and open communication.\n\n**Sound like you?**\nThen send us the following:\n\n- Your CV.\n- A write-up explaining who you are and why you are interested in working at komoot.\n- Examples of your work (e.g. GitHub, PDFs, Slideshare, etc.).\n- Something that shows us a little more about what youโre interested in, be it your Twitter/Instagram account or your blog.\n- As we love people that go the extra mile, youโll get bonus points for doing something creative with komoot. \n\nPlease mention the words **SCISSORS ETERNAL BACHELOR** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4yMDQ=).
