You will be a subject matter expert on all things technical with a deep-rooted understanding of distributed systems, how they are built and how they scale. Technology and engineering is a passion for you and prototyping and championing new methodologies, approaches and techniques is what you thrive upon.\n\nAs an architect you will take business strategy and formulate and define an architecture that supports that strategy. Fault tolerance, interoperability, horizontal and vertical scale all should be tenants of your design with the ultimate goal of supporting an ever growing customer base.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Lead, mentor and support a team of passionate technical professionals fostering a high performance culture.\n\n* You will be a part of setting a culture of creativity, innovation and excellence in all areas of engineering and technology.\n\n* Establish and follow coding standards and best practices.\n\n* Collaborate with a team of architects working on multiple diverse projects.\n\n* Mentor and train developers.\n\n* Provide architectural expertise in all areas of application development.\n\n* Motivate and inspire developers and evangelize the architecture’s features for the enterprise.\n\n* Build technical proof of concepts for emerging requirements.\n\n* Convert technical proofs into working software in a clear and concise fashion.\n\n* Analyze and optimize inefficiencies in existing systems .\n\n* Identify and implement enterprise level best practices regarding distributed architecture and persistence at scale.\n\n* Ensure that all selected tooling is in line with the company technology strategy.\n\n\n\n\nIt will really make us smile if you have…\n\n\n* Clear and concise communication skills and advanced level of English.\n\n* Experience in two major application stacks preferably .NET standard and Python Django/Tornado\n\n* C#, Python, Scala, Go or Ruby experience.\n\n* Extensive cloud experience preferably in Amazon Web Services or Azure.\n\n* NoSQL and search engine experience; ElasticSearch, Couchbase, Redis, Mongo, Dynamo\n\n* RDBMS experience; Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle\n\n* Interoperability framework experience; Protocol Buffers or equivalent.\n\n* Demonstrable micro-service/SOA design and implementation experience.\n\n* Expert knowledge in service topology, protocol, security and discovery; SOAP, REST\n\n* Front-end development proficiency with adequate JavaScript and CSS skills.\n\n* Understanding of multi-threaded and concurrent programming techniques.\n\n* Understanding and implementation experience of enterprise architectural patterns.\n\n* Full understanding of the software development lifecycle.\n\n* Experience with implementing and configuring API gateways.\n\n* Experience configuring and deploying container based applications at scale.\n\n* 7+ years’ of overall technical implementation experience as either a senior developer or team lead.\n\n* 5+ years of experience as an enterprise architect.\n\n* Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience at an enterprise level.\n\n\n\n\nBenefits of joining the club:\n\n\n* Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance\n\n* 401K with match\n\n* PTO\n\n* Aligner and Whitening Benefit\n\n* Collaborative work environment and positive culture\n\n\n\n\nSmileDirectClub was founded on a simple belief: everyone deserves a smile they love.
