Remote DeFi Lending Founding Tech Lead Core Contributor
About the Opportunity\n\nTrust Machines is incubating a DeFi Lending app, and we’re looking for a Lead Engineer to join our remote-first team as the first dedicated Lending engineer. The Lending app is building the bleeding edge of Bitcoin DeFi, using novel smart contracting functionality on Bitcoin to deliver a 10x improvement on existing DeFi lending. This role will be critical in determining vision and direction, advising on and implementing technical design, and working with the team to develop a robust and long-term product. The ideal candidate has start-up experience, is passionate about building amazing consumer apps, and is hungry to build the next big Web3 app.\nHere’s what you’ll do:\n\n\n* Collaborate with our core engineering team to architect a secure, decentralized, and highly-functional web3 lending app\n\n* Transition codebase from external engineering team, bringing development in-house and setting up operational processes for our new internal team\n\n* Partner with GM to build a team of dedicated engineers for Lending, while also collaborating with the broader Trust Machines engineering team\n\n* Help define the vision and direction for Lending and DeFi at Trust Machines\n\n* Own Lending product development, from ideation and design through deployment and operation\n\n* Design, develop, and deploy smart contracts and decentralized applications on various blockchain platforms, writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code\n\n* Collaborate cross-functionally with various TM teams including core engineering, product design, UX, and business development\n\n\n\nWhat we're looking for:\n\n\n* A passion for Bitcoin, DeFi, and crypto\n\n* Self-motivation and self-management\n\n* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on discovering solutions instead of identifying roadblocks\n\n* Hands-on experience with smart contract blockchains platforms like Ethereum (EVM), Cosmos, Solana, Stacks, or WebAssembly virtual machines\n\n* Fluency in Solidity or another smart contract language\n\n* Proven experience as a Blockchain Developer or similar role, with a strong understanding of blockchain concepts, consensus algorithms, and cryptographic principles\n\n* Familiarity with smart contract development tools and frameworks (e.g., Truffle, Remix, Web3.js)\n\n* 5+ years of work experience in software development, ideally including work in a consumer-facing fintech startup or defi protocol\n\n\n\nNice to haves:\n\n\n* Fluency in Rust\n\n* Experience in the end-to-end full-stack development and/or launch of a Web3 DeFi protocol\n\n* Experience at a startup as an early engineer, even better if you’ve tried to launch your own\n\n* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field\n\n* Familiarity with scripting languages for handling and analyzing large datasets (ex: Python using using libraries like Pandas and NumPy)\n\n\n\nWhat we’ll offer:\n\n\n* Remote-first work environment (with home office subsidy)\n\n* Competitive NYC based Salary (regardless of location, benchmarked annually)\n\n\n* $150,000 - $215,000\n\n\n\n\n\n* Equity in Trust Machines\n\n* Participation in future protocol incentives\n\n* Open Vacation Policy, take the days you need\n\n* Health Benefits\n\n* Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave\n\n* Your choice of technical setup and equipment\n\n* Awesome coworkers and a fun, collaborative environment\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
