Job Requisition ID # 23WD74138 Position Overview Embark on an enriching journey with Autodesk as a Software Architect, stepping into an important position important to the transformation and modernization of our mission-critical licensing platform. We are at the forefront of the company's licensing needs and have tremendous visibility and impact across all of Autodesk. The platform stack is complex and is integrated with the desktop as well as cloud products. In this role, you will influence the trajectory of our software systems. You will focus on improving the resiliency and scalability of the platform. You will ensure alignment with the latest industry best practices. In this capacity, you'll mentor a geographically dispersed development team, elevating the standards of engineering excellence across the board. Join us in shaping the future of software architecture at Autodesk. As part of this role, you will be reporting to the Director of Engineering. This job will be fully remote with occasional onsite workshops/meetings. This job also might need occasional travel to APAC. Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain an understanding of the current system's architecture and functionality Develop a strategic direction for the licensing platform and ensure that the tactical direction is to support the larger strategy Drive broad consensus and agreement across teams and GEOs Lead the design and implementation of scalable, maintainable software solutions Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a geographically distributed development team, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of the platform Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating them into the platform's architecture by conducting code and architecture reviews Raise the bar within the team and across the organization Partner with Product Management and Business leads regarding future platform and technology issues and the effect of decisions on all projects Create formal networks with industry and cross organizational leadership communities to develop standards, and foster platform growth Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires and evaluation of intangibles Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale distributed systems Have designed and implemented complex software systems Broad knowledge of AWS, server programming, databases, and cloud architectures Experience working with container frameworks (Docker) and container orchestration tools (AWS ECS, Kubernetes) Experience with Microservices, API architecture and management Work experience in a global and distributed environment Technology stack: Java/Spring, AWS/Containers, Go, R, and Python Learn More About Autodesk Welcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $160,000 and $258,720. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package. This role will provide technical leadership, driving innovation and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects.\n\n \n\nWhat You’ll Do:\n\n\n* Responsible for design, development, and hands-on implementation of Amazon Web Services cloud solutions\n\n* Serve as an AWS technical resource in team’s efforts to determine the needs of our client’s businesses that will simplify and automate the applications as well as make them more efficient\n\n* Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of our customer's AWS foundational footprint\n\n* Work closely with other Trace3 architects and engineers to recommend and design infrastructure, database, or data storage solutions that effectively reflect our client’s business needs, security, and service level requirements\n\n* Work with application and infrastructure teams to conduct proof of concepts (POCs) and implement Production-ready designs in Amazon Web Services\n\n* Align solutions with standards and best practices working with cross-functional engineering and consulting teams\n\n* Perform risk analysis & create mitigation strategies for continuous evaluation and validation or system design and architecture\n\n* Ability to produce as-built documentation and materials\n\n* Ability to design, build, and execute automation frameworks for deployment of AWS Cloud Environments (based on CloudFormation templates, Terraform, AWSCLI, others)\n\n* Support pre-sales activities when needed\n\n* Collaborate and communicate with Sales and Account Management team to ensure smooth and successful delivery and assist with the identification of additional Advanced Services and Sales opportunities within the customer’s environment\n\n* Establish strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers in client organizations\n\n* Contribute to the development of internal best practices as well as new innovative consulting services offerings that we can take to market\n\n* Provide guidance and mentorship to project teams, assisting in solving technical challenges and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects.\n\n* Build a community and following around our company solutions and brand awareness\n\n\n\n\nQualifications & Interests:\n\n\n* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required or equivalent work experience\n\n* 8+ years of experience with implementation and support of infrastructure services on AWS, AWS DevIo Experience  (CodeBuild, CodePipeline, CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, AWS Config, AWS Systems Manager, CloudWatch, Lambda experience) (additional DevOps experience like Jenkins and Azure DevOps is good, but not required)\n\n* 5 years of experience with current operating system administration (Examples: Windows, Linux, Ubuntu and CentOS)\n\n* 4 years of experience with APIs, performing commands through CLI to perform implementations and third-party integrations\n\n* 4 years of experience with cloud network connectivity and ExpressRoute, and ability to troubleshoot cloud connectivity issues\n\n* Previous experience working for a consulting or services organization strongly preferred\n\n* AWS Certified Solution Architect and/or DevOps Engineer\n\n* AWS Cloud Platform Experience\n\n* Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Ruby, or GoLang- specifically including experience creating and consuming RESTful APIs as well as AWS Lambda\n\n* Automation experience with CloudFormation, (Terraform, Jenkins, Git, others are a plus)\n\n* Experience deploying ControlTower with GuardRails in production\n\n* Kubernetes (Vanilla or EKS/ECS) and OpenShift 4.x experience in production (containerization and ops)\n\n* Knowledge of IAM integration with AWS environments\n\n* Experience aiding with operationalizing AWS cloud environments using AWS native and third-party tools for monitoring and management\n\n* Ability to mix deep technical expertise with simple, everyday language to deliver a story that is memorable, educational and useful\n\n* Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment\n\n* Ability to approach customer and sales requests with a proactive and consultative manner;
