\nWe develop and distribute technology that innovates, automates and changes the Veterinary market globally. Through ezyVet, our customers book a patient appointment every 3 seconds, request a diagnostic test every 28 seconds and drive our product through our feature request and user feedback forum. Our customers promote ideas, allowing us to focus on the engineering, knowing our product is developing into what they want rather than what we think they want.\n\nSo, what’s your mission?\nIn 2018 we started the journey of migrating our entire frontend to ReactJS, from our legacy PHP. We now have multiple core parts of ezyVet built using ReactJS together with Redux. Your challenge is to continue to refactor and build simple yet scaleable solutions for complex workflows. This will involve juggling multiple priorities using agile practices adding new functionality along the way.\n\nA bit about our stack\nOur legacy public API is written in PHP with Lumen framework and is currently used by more than 100 partners (and a mountain of others lining up to integrate) as well as our 5 internally built mobile apps, which are built in React Native (3 of these exciting apps are currently being migrated from Swift to React Native). This API will be replaced soon with a full Laravel stack. This allows us to build APIs for our partners, for the new ReactJS frontend as well as for our mobile apps.\n\nAuckland HQ is where the bulk of the engineering horse power is based but our London operation is the turbo charger and both continue to grow. We run a pod structure (currently 7 across London & Auckland), follow an agile methodology, and collaborate on all aspects of the development stack to produce elegant code.\n\n\n\nWhat your typical day would look like?\n\n\n* Start the day with with some light banter with your team. In normal times looking out over SW15 from our open plan Zeeta House office above Putney Station.\n\n* Flex those fingers, warm up that mechanical keyboard and get ready to code your heart out. We're talking perfectly structured framework objects, building beautiful code, refactor and repeat\n\n* Stand up – we value collaboration here\n\n* Tackle that coding problem, find solutions and work on transferring legacy features to an API that will be consumed by a brand new UI framework, partners and our mobile apps\n\n* Grab some lunch and kick back in the office maybe head down to the local gym or check out the local eats at your door step.\n\n* Tackle some more problems...\n\n* Afternoon coffee top up, or tea if you fancy\n\n* Spend the afternoon in GitLab, reviewing fellow coder's code, coach some junior team members in best practice and keep collaborating!\n\n\n\n\n\nCould you be who we’re looking for?\n\n\n* At least 2 years of web development experience\n\n* Proven delivery and action orientated\n\n* Experience with PHP | MySQL | AWS\n\n* Experience with unit testing (PHP Unit)\n\n* Strong OO design patterns, modular design\n\n* Experience building and consuming APIs (JSON, SOAP)\n\n* Scrum master experience is a bonus ensuring the team executes agile principles and follows the processes and practices\n\n\n\n\nIdeally we're looking for: PHP/Laravel 7+ (can be interchanged for C/C++,C#,Java, other OOP languages depends on ability) javascript (any)\n\nNice to have: ReactJS, Typescript, AWS or other cloud architecture\n\nBottom line is we're looking for drive, passion, and a willingness to learn – if we’re preaching what your practicing, we’d love to hear from you but you'll need the right to live and work in the UK for this to have wheels. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nLeveraging your experience in building and maintaining complex business applications, you will take part in the development of both APIs and user interfaces.\n\n\n\nWe are looking for someone who is eager to:\n\n\n* Collaborate with other developers to ship new features\n\n* Be in charge of the overall architecture of applications you build\n\n* Ensure that we have the right tests and structure in place to make sure that we can move quickly without breaking everything\n\n* Share your knowledge of full-stack development principles and best practices with the team\n\n* Keep learning new technologies and be on the look-out for new ideas that we should try out\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat we are looking for\n\n\n* Solid knowledge of JavaScript and Typescript\n\n* Experience with modern JavaScript and Typescript tooling and libraries\n\n* Experience with back-end applications in Node.js\n\n* Experience with front-end applications in Angular/React or similar frameworks\n\n* Quality-oriented mindset: testing, code reviews, code quality, etc.\n\n* Awareness of performance considerations\n\n* A passion for simple, maintainable, and readable code that balances pragmatism and performance\n\n\n\n\n\nBonus points:\n\n\n* Experience with AWS or GCP\n\n* Experience with the micro-frontends architecture\n\n* Experience with the micro-services architecture\n\n\n\n\n\n How do we build our products?\n\nFor the frontend, we have adopted the micro-frontends architecture for building our user interface. Each team has the freedom to pick their own framework (Angular/React) for the frontend they need to build. All SPAs we build use our UI library and get plugged into the shell. We also build a multitude of SDKs from Web and Mobile (iOS, Android) to CTV and Unity.\n\nFor the backend, we have multiple services (APIs and Lambdas) written in Javascript and Typescript. We leverage PostgreSQL and DynamoDB as our main databases and manage our infrastructure with Terraform and Cloudformation. The principles of infrastructure as code are very important to us and we commit everything including KMS-encrypted secrets. Our most important services have 100% code coverage and we deploy our pipeline runners on GCP on a Kubernetes cluster.\n\nWe process hundreds of millions of requests per day and are building our analytics platform on Kinesis Firehose, AWS S3, EMR jobs, and TimescaleDB to provide performant analytics for our clients. Internally we use Athena and Redash.\n\nWe rely on a multitude of AWS/GCP services for building, deploying, serving, monitoring, and scaling our services. We use Gitlab for our code and CI/CD. To manage our issues we use Jira.\n\n\n Our vision as a team\n\nWe are building a product and engineering team that is strongly committed to a high level of quality in our products and code. We believe that automation is the key to consistently achieving that along with velocity of development, joy, and pride in what we deliver.\n\nAt Didomi we are organized into feature teams and work with 2-week sprints. We do our best to avoid pointless meetings. The majority of the engineering team works remotely from all over the world, the only hard requirement is a 4-hour overlap with CET working hours.\n\nWe rely on automated tests of all sorts (unit, integration, linters, you-name-it!) and continuous integration/delivery to build flexible applications that are able to evolve without breaking. We trust that it enables engineers to focus on the quality of their code and iterate fast without fears of breaking stuff. And when we break stuff, we fix it, create a post-mortem and learn from our mistakes.\n\n\n Recruitment Process\n\n\n* An intro call with a Tech Lead or the CTO\n\n* A code challenge to build a simple API or a SPA. This is used as the basis of discussion for the next step. You can find our challenges on our github page (https://github.com/didomi/challenges). We also accept suitable open source projects in place of the challenge.\n\n* A 1h and 15min code review session and architecture discussion with 3-4 Didomi engineers\n\n* A set of 1:1 30-minute calls with the CTO, engineers, and (occasionally) a product manager\n\n\n\n\nFor the architecture discussion, we plan to sketch an architecture (think of APIs, clients, queues, jobs, etc) and discuss options and tradeoffs as we would on a normal day at Didomi.\n\n\n We understand you already have a job, obligations (and maybe a personal life!) so we'll work with you to make sure it doesn't take up too much of your time while still providing a good basis for a very concrete discussion. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\n100% Remote: This role allows working remotely 100% of the time from anywhere in the US. Workers must be authorized to work in the US (No Non US Applicants Please). \n\nWhat We Do\n\nThe team at MapLarge builds cutting edge products for data analytics and visualization to make us safer, more productive, and more efficient. The Maplarge API provides real time geospatial analytics for over 15 billion location events per day and trillions of historical events. Analysts using our geospatial visualization capability can instantly visualize and publish for data discovery and model testing on any desktop, mobile or tablet device.\n\nWho We Need\n\nCultural Fit - While we hire all kinds of people and invent roles to fit them, there are three key traits we require of every team member that really define our team.\n\n* Fun to Work With - Life is short and work should be fun. \n\n* Extremely Smart - We work on cutting edge hard problems and we need people who can both architect and code these systems at the same time while working with a highly intelligent peer group. \n\n* Passionate Engineers - We need people who really love programming and exhibit the energy and creativity that comes from being fully engaged in what you do.\n\n\n\nSkills & Requirements\n\nTypes of Roles\n\nWe need talented people to help add cool new features to our platform. Below are the general categories of tasks we are working on, but often people straddle multiple areas so take them more as the general "gist" of what you might do with us. We are looking for smart, hard working, fun people and we will invent the right role to fit them. The key trait we are looking for is people who like to both architect/design and write the code for complex systems. \n\n(1) Client Side - Interactive Visuals: We maintain a JavaScript API for for interactive Data Visualization using our high performance web services. We need people both to help add new dynamic animated UI components and other features to the JS API. We also need people to build data driven visuals for our demo gallery if you are artistically or data analysis inclined. Enjoy working with Knockout, Angular, D3.js, HTML5? Check our our galleries to see the kind of stuff you will be working on http://maplarge.com/demos\n\n(2) Full Stack Web Services - Full stack developers who are comfortable working on both client and server side to produce high performance applications powered by scalable web services are the backbone of our team. We run c# in both .net and mono server side and also maintain a flexible client side API with a large library of reusable components. We host and run large deployments that sometimes scale to thousands of computers for scientific/industrial/gov users and in a typical day process data over 15 billion records from 110 million streaming data sources. \n\n(3) Algorithm / Core Database Development - We built our own in memory database and distributed data analytics pipeline from the ground up with funding from DARPA, and we have a team of really talented researchers working on Pattern analysis, Streaming analytics, Spatial queries and Network graph functions that power our visual engines. We are always looking for practical people who love writing highly optimized code that straddles the line between research and software development. We don't usually publish scientific papers, but we are right out on the edge pulling algorithms out of the latest research papers finding really fast "good enough" approaches that let us tease interesting patterns out of data without getting lost in "science experiment land"\n\nRequirements:\n\n\n* US Person based anywhere in the US (100% remote allowed but no off shore)\n\n* 5 Years work experience as a programmer\n\n* Highly Comfortable with C# and Visual Studio\n\n* Experienced with Web Development & JavaScript\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nWhat We Do\n\nMapLarge provides Big Data Analytics and Visualization to make us safer, more productive, and more efficient. The Maplarge API provides real time geospatial analytics for over 15 billion location events per day and trillions of historical events. Analysts using our geospatial visualization capability can instantly visualize and publish for data discovery and model testing on any desktop, mobile or tablet device.\n\nWho We Need\n\n\nMandatory Skills: While we hire all kinds of people and invent roles to fit them, there are three key traits we require of every team member that really define our team.\n\n1. Fun to Work With - Life is short and work should be fun. We have a strict 'no assholes' policy :-).\n\n2. Extremely Smart - We work on cutting edge hard problems and we need people who can keep up.\n\n3. Passionate Engineers - We need people who really love programming and exhibit the energy and creativity that comes from being fully engaged in what you do.\n\n\nTypes of Roles: We need talented people to help add cool new features to our platform. Below are the general categories of tasks we are working on, but often people straddle multiple areas so take them more as the general 'gist' of what you might do with us. We are looking for smart, hard working, fun people and we will invent the right role to fit them.\n\n(1) Client Side - Interactive Visuals: We maintain a JavaScript API for for interactive Data Visualization using our high performance web services. \n\n(3) Algorithm / Core Database Development: We built our own in memory database and distributed data analytics pipeline from the ground up with funding from DARPA, and we have a team of really talented researchers working on Pattern analysis, Streaming analytics, Spatial queries and Network graph functions that power our visual engines. We are always looking for practical people who love writing highly optimized code that straddles the line between research and software development. We don't usually publish scientific papers, but we are right out on the edge pulling algorithms out of the latest research papers finding really fast 'good enough' approaches that let us tease interesting patterns out of data without getting lost in 'science experiment land' \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
