Weโre looking for a proactive, self-directed, and experienced technical team lead to help us commercialize our in-house online programmable survey application. If you have experience as a team lead/ lead developer on a Rails project, you are native or fluent English speaking, and youโre looking for a leadership position with autonomy and flexibility then this is the right position for you.\n\nThe product has been developed in-house and utilized by our research team for the past 2 years, with plans to enhance and improve it in order to make it a commercial application. Itโs built with Ruby on Rails, React.js, PostgreSQL and Heroku. We also integrate with various third-party APIs including Facebook, Twitter and Google.\n\nOur small, agile, development team is distributed and our main business office is on the US East Coast, so daily availability to meet online during US Eastern Timezone morning business hours (or earlier), as well as at least 4 hours of overlap with Central European Time business hours (3AM-12PM EST) is required.\n\nKey responsibilities:\n- Sprints planning\n- Release pipeline orchestration\n- Code review\n- Back-end: Ruby\n- Front-end: Jsx (react); Sass; Es6\n\nMust haves:\n- Experience as a lead developer in a moderately complex environment - must have at least 2 years of recent experience as a team lead/lead developer for teams of 3 or more developers, including experience with code reviews, automated deployments, review apps, version control\n- Experience and desire to be proactive at improving both software code and the software development processes\n- Ruby on Rails\n- Good verbal communication skills\n- Organized and detail oriented\n- Experience with a SQL-based database\n- Experience supporting production environment\n- Git\n- Continuous integration\n- Scrum\n- Integration and Unit Testing\n- Ability to work on a complex product with a small agile team\n\nGood to haves:\n- API integrations\n- OAuth 2\n- Working with business stakeholders\n- React.js and Redux\n- PostgreSQL\n- Heroku\n- Experience connecting and integrating development tools (deployment, project management, version control, slack)\n- Degree in Computer Science/related field\n\nNice to have:\n- Kanban\n\n \n\nPlease mention the words **SHARE SURGE EDIT** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xNDY=).
