🔎 Vital is looking for a passionate senior engineer to join us on our mission to revolutionise how healthcare is delivered today.
💻 Vital is an API for at-home health data, and we are making it easy for developers to build virtual-first healthcare apps on top of our platform. We have built a wearables API and at-home test kit API and our current docs can be found at docs.tryvital.io.
🚀 We are a seed-funded startup backed by some of the best investors like Y Combinator.
🌍 This is a fully remote position. However, you must be able to provide at least 4 hours of business overlap with GMT. We are not offering any visa sponsorships at this time.
💪🏽 Some of the early challenges you could be working on:
Reverse engineering API's for wearables/medical devices.
Building a scalable fault-tolerant backend that can handle large amounts of data and the complexity of 50+ 3rd party API integrations.
Building direct integrations to wearable devices and at-home remote patient monitoring devices.
Building pipelines to scale dealing with the legacy labs, i.e. email ordering and scraping
You like to wear many hats. We are a small team, with a lot of things yet to be figured out. You are comfortable operating in such an environment.
You have experience with FHIR and building APIs in digital health.
You are persistent and don't give up easily. A lot of times it's unclear how to reverse engineer some of the clients we integrate with and we will require a lot of patience and out-of-the-box thinking.
You’re open to working in different tech stacks and jumping to frontend when needed.

We are looking for an experienced backend engineer (Golang) who would join existing API and Integration team which is using Golang to connect to various 3rd party APIs (payment), building integration layers to ingest large amount of data daily from our partners and last but not least, building APIs for our own clients (APP, Web) to consume them.
Responsibilities
Develop secure, robust and scalable code
Make sure that written code is covered by tests with defined acceptance levels
Support Product organization (Product Owners) with inputs on the effort and complexity of specific implementations
Close collaboration the rest of the Engineering team in technical decision making
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we see that you have a structured, analytical mindset along with strong communication skills. You are comfortable with a fast-paced working environment and enjoy a stable but agile start-up conditions. Furthermore you also have the following experience:
3+ years working with Golang
experienced in several programming and scripting languages
Experience with unit and integration testing paradigms
Experience writing code for transactional high-intensity, real-time applications
Deep understanding of system architecture design, algorithms and data structures
Event-driven architecture
Relational databases
Experience with containerization technologies
Experience with messaging queues
Experience in working with cloud services (AWS or Google Cloud Platform)
Structured analytical mindset with strong communication skills
