80% of the global workforce is deskless, yet just 1% of all enterprise software funding is dedicated to serving these 2.7 billion people.\n\nAt Sona, our mission is to put cutting edge technology in the hands of every deskless employee to empower them to do their best work.\n\nWeโre a rapidly growing, VC-backed B2B SaaS startup founded in the summer of 2021. We are fully remote, with overlapping โoffice hoursโ during the mornings (GMT). \n\nWe are strong believers in giving everyone the autonomy to do their best work, when and how they prefer. That means youโll have a lot of flexibility and control over how to shape your job and work life, while getting all the support you need to succeed.\n\nWe take our health and mental health seriously, believing that we can only perform to our best when we are healthy and happy. Thatโs why we work 4.5 day weeks, with a flexible half day that you can use as you choose. \n\nYou can learn more about the team and what itโs like working at Sona [here](https://www.notion.so/getsona/Working-at-Sona-4e3c00206c414d8c9eb9b7a617cdc6d7)\n\n### About the role\nWe fundamentally believe that the best products are built when small, cross functional, autonomous teams are empowered to solve business problems as they see fit. Youโll be joining a pod which owns a particular area of the product and movement between product areas is encouraged and easy.\n\nEngineers are heavily involved throughout the product development process, inputting into the why and what as well as the how.\n\n*Our stack has two main components:*\n* A backend with a GraphQL API (for communicating with the Native App) and a web frontend built using Elixir and Phoenix Live View (the PETAL stack)\n* A native mobile application built in React Native + Typescript\n\nWe think in terms of โT Shapedโ developers. This means that while all of us have some ability across the โfull stackโ, most of us have one side of the stack (e.g. Elixir or React Native) weโre stronger on and spend the bulk of our time on.\n\nWeโre passionate advocates of the Live View approach for building web applications and believe that itโs one of the biggest step changes in productivity and developer experience since Ruby on Rails.\n\nLikewise we strongly believe in the benefits of the common, typesafe Android and iOS codebase that React Native combined with Typescript and GraphQL gives us. \n\nTypically when somebody starts working with us, they have strong experience with one side of the stack and then learn the other part on the job.\n\n### How We Work\nOur [engineering principles](https://www.notion.so/getsona/Engineering-Team-Principles-b83ffe9620a645e5920529ad79928c66)give a flavour of how we like to work. Weโre a fully remote team spread across 4 countries (and growing). We have a company stand up most mornings at 10:00 UK time. We aim to have fully paid for company meetups roughly once per quarter.\n\nEverything starts with talking to customers. We like everyone in the company to regularly join either sales calls with new prospects or catch ups with existing customers\n\nWeโre a small company with a strong preference for lightweight, asynchronous processes. \n\nWithin product we work in sprints with periodic retrospectives.\n\n### Interview Process\nOur hiring process follows this pattern:\n* Initial phone screen (30 minutes) focused primarily on approach to work, career goals and your questions about Sona\n* Technical Interview (1-2 hours) take us through a piece of code you're proud of and talk about how it's architected, what worked well and what you'd do differently if you wrote it again. If you don't have a suitable piece of code, we're also happy to pay you for half a days work to do a take home task. But we understand that everyone's busy so we'd much rather use some code you've already got where possible!\n* Founder Interview (1 hour), focused on why youโre interested in Sona and your questions about the vision\n\n### Requirements\nWe love engineers who have a non nonsense approach to โgetting it shippedโ, who when given the choice between โcomplicated and shinyโ vs โget something simple in front of a userโ will always choose the latter.\n\nEverybodyโs different, but a lot of the following probably applies to you:\n* You have extensive professional experience in either React Native or Elixir\n* If your experience is in React Native youโre happy to talk about Typescript, the role of generics and when they should be used, how hooks changed how we build React Native apps and when one should consider writing custom hooks. Youโd be equally happy explaining promises and how they interact with async / await.\n* If your experience is in Elixir youโre passionate about LiveView and are comfortable talking about itโs advantages and challenges\n* You have a strong preference towards taking ownership, making sure youโre clear on what youโre doing and why and then communicating progress over awaiting instruction\n* Youโre in a country which is GMT +/- 3 and fluent communicating both verbally and in writing in English\n\n### Benefits\n* Competitive salary\n* 4.5 day standard working week\n* 37 days annual leave (25 days standard plus 12 flexible โbank holidayโ days)\n* Share options\n* Fully remote and flexible working\n* Co-working space stipend\n* Free mental health support (On-demand online therapy & coaching)\n* Quarterly all expenses paid team retreats\n* The latest Macbook and equipment for your home office\n* Professional development budget\n* Unlimited free books \n\nPlease mention the word **AWE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xNDY=). Patients lack access to proper mental healthcare and while 1 in 5 Americans struggle with mental health issues, only 40% of this group received care in the last year. At the same time, providers are underutilized, and independent therapists are operating at 60% capacity. UpLift acts as the bridge between patient, provider and insurer, empowering patients to find the best therapist for their needs at a price they can afford.\n\nAs one of the first members of our Uplift engineering team, you will lay the foundation for our consumer and healthcare provider interfaces, helping to bring a better mental health experience to all patients. You will help set the systems, architecture, and process for our engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to lay the groundwork for everything from the API to CI!\n\nYou will report to and work with the Chief Product Officer and partner closely with our front end engineer to develop our API layer and institutional best practices. This role offers a lot of growth and youโll be able to have a big impact on many parts of the company.\n\n# Who We Are\n\n[BlueRithm](https://bluerithm.com/) is made up of a small team of US-based engineers with domain and development expertise. Since 2016, weโve built and shipped a project-management platform for specialized niches in the construction, manufacturing, and energy industries.\n\nWeโre backed by TinySeed and a deep bench of experienced business owners, founders, and high-caliber people who believe in our approach and mission.\n\n# What is it like working with us?\n\nEven though weโre small and agile, we work hard and strive for success. We do it humbly and never at the expense of whatโs right and ethical. We value diversity in backgrounds and thought, and believe leaving our egos at the door, supporting each other, and working towards common goals is a recipe for success.\n\n**Remote Work**\nMost of us work remotely around the U.S. We communicate and collaborate on Microsoft Teams. Most of our work takes place during normal U.S. business hours. The founders are in Minneapolis so there are opportunities to come co-work in the office space located there.\n\n**Sane Hours**\nWeโre adults and we trust each other to manage our time responsibly. We look at what you accomplish, not how long you are in front of a computer. We work hard and smart. Sure, we need to drive the business hard and release features, but weโre most concerned with long-term success.\n\n# The Role\n\nThis โSenior Software Engineerโ role has been created to help out one of the founders and take over a lot of his development work.\n\nYou will bring the product vision to life. Youโll help develop and prioritize the product roadmap, contributing your creative vision and technical expertise to give our customers a first-class product that solves real problems.\n\nYouโll be doing full-stack development on our ASP.NET MVC web app, RESTful API, and Xamarin mobile app. Some features span the whole platform, while some are specific to one part (for example, just the web app). Youโll be building many new features and supporting existing ones. Occasionally youโll join customer calls to stay engaged with our customers and understand, in their words, what they need.\n\nAs the company continues growing, youโll also have the opportunity to grow your role in scope and responsibility. That could mean helping mentor and develop a more junior developer in the future.\n\nThis is a full-time role that can be fully remote. Ideally, you are located in the United States, but we are open to other locations as well.\n\nWe are an established company with a strong product, but sometimes we operate as an early startup. Not all of our SOPs are ironed out and thereโs no big employee handbook. This role is for someone who is OK with ambiguity, loves to solve problems, and can work through issues. This also presents the opportunity for lots of growth and to have an impact across many parts of the company.\n\n**Day to Day**\n\n~80% of your time will be spent coding and working on our product. The rest of the time will be working on the product roadmap, brainstorming issues, and problem-solving, and continuous deployment.\n\n# Who Weโre Looking For\n\nIdeally, weโd like to have someone who has strong experience with web app development and is also very comfortable in a startup, entrepreneurial environment.\n\n**Personality and Type of Person Weโre Looking For:**\n\n* Someone who gets a thrill and satisfaction from building real features that people need and use.\n* The desire to have creative, visionary, as well as technical influence over product direction.\n* Understanding of the importance of urgency of work and creating results, but has a big-picture, long term mindset.\n* A self-improvement spirit.\n* Someone who enjoys solving difficult problems.\n* Passion for the work\n* A data-driven attitude\n* Perseverance\n* Adaptability\n* Self-reliance\n* Comfort with risk-taking and ambiguity that comes with working for a small company.\n\n**Your Experience and Skillset:**\n\n* Expertise with ASP.NET MVC web applications\n* Expertise with HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, other common web development technologies.\n* Expertise with full .NET framework as well as .NET Core.\n* Expertise in developing Web APIs.\n* Experience with various databases relational and document-based (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Mongo DB, MySQL, etc..).\n* Experience developing enterprise solutions with Microsoft Azure.\n* Experience utilizing Azure and Azure DevOps automation in the context of automating infrastructure deployments.\n* Experience developing applications with Azure DevOps (Repositories, Build and Deploy Pipelines).\n* Experienced in design and UX principles. Prioritizes exceptional user experience in engineering and execution.\n\n# Bonus points\n\n* Experience developing mobile applications with Xamarin (cross-platform: iOS, Android, UWP).\n\n# Compensation and Benefits\n\n**Salary Range**\n$130-160k per Year\n\n**Stock Options**\nBlueRithm offers stock options in addition to salary and benefits. This vested interest in the company is something that would be discussed with the founders.\n\n**Insurance Coverage**\nFor our U.S. employees, we offer health insurance.\n\n**401k Plan**\nEmployees are eligible for a 401k plan thatโs integrated into our payroll system. Plans are employee-funded.\n\n**Equipment Budget**\nHome office budget available to help you do your best work\n\n**Time Off / Vacation**\nTaking time off makes you happier, healthier, and more productive. We want you to take the time you need to rejuvenate, reflect, and take care of your and your familyโs health. Thatโs why we have a 30 day off vacation policy. Weโre not going to micromanage your day-to-day work when youโre taking off early or starting late, or just need a day to handle personal business. \nAbout SHIFT \n\nSHIFT is on a mission to help teams collaborate and perform better.\n\nWe build a full suite of breakthrough digital tools to help every team, leader and team member to learn, grow and succeed. We understand how to help build cohesion, trust, chemistry and communication, and we build this into our products. With our powerful diagnostics, AI-driven coaching, virtual conversation guides, habit builders and more, SHIFT is revolutionizing how teams, leaders and organizations improve and thrive. \n\nOur tools have never been in more demand. Organizations around the world are navigating extreme disruption and upheaval. Sudden and sweeping shifts to remote work, emerging hybrid working models, and the adoption of new ways of working are having profound impacts on teams. \n\nSHIFT’s clients include some of the world’s most respected Fortune 500s, like Roche, ExxonMobil and Vanguard, and tech giants like Netflix and Airbnb. We’re on a mission to keep serving their teams and to expand to any team who needs us. We’ve been featured in the Harvard Business Review, at global tech conferences and on countless leadership podcasts, as we seek to democratize the art of winning and healthy teams.\n\nThe Role\n\nWe are searching for a talented and experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our Engineering team, located in the timezone UTC +8 or UTC -3 hours. \n\nThe Engineering team at SHIFT is a fully remote team from the ground up. We live in different countries but work great together, building the software that powers the transformation that SHIFT is all about. You will become part of our team, taking on the variety of tasks that makes full stack engineering enjoyable—and keeps our software dev engine humming. You will have a big impact on SHIFT’s success by enabling us to provide white-glove service to our clients, who are generally large Fortune 500 companies.\n\nAs a Full Stack Engineer you can expect to:\n\n\n* Actively communicate in our written forums like work tickets, slack, and github PR comments\n\n* Actively participate in our regular team video calls to get the most out of a limited medium\n\n* Perform code reviews, and respond to having your code reviewed\n\n* Develop new front-end product features in TypeScript using React, with a focus on creating a seamless user experience with our tools\n\n* Develop the backend REST API in Laravel framework PHPInteract with the DB via Laravel’s ORM (Eloquent) in code, as well as via SQL when investigating issues\n\n* Occasionally (rarely), interact with legacy server-rendered Laravel blade pages and frontend snippets rendered by MithrilJS in coffeescript\n\n* Write automated tests for your work to support confident future code changes\n\n* Work on high value, rapid development projects that allow SHIFT to evaluate new hypotheses and prototype new ideas\n\n\n\n\nYou\n\nWe're looking for a remote (UTC+8/UTC-3) Engineer who can hit the ground running in a fast paced nature of a growing startup, as a member of a collaborative engineering team.\n\nAs a Full Stack Engineer you will turn user stories into software solutions, able to deliver vertical slices that cover frontend, API, backend, and DB. You should be a critical and creative thinker, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.\n\nYou should have an ownership mindset and be a self-starter, always striving to deliver the highest-quality solution for our clients, while having the ability to see how to balance quality vs the pragmatic reality of quickly putting delivered features into users’ hands.\n\nLastly, it is important that you are excited about working with a remote Engineering team. The Business team is located in North America, primarily Toronto, but the Engineering team is worldwide and plans to stay that way.\n\nWe are primarily looking for remote candidates in the UTC +8 or UTC -3 timezones, for example, UTC + 8: Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Russia, Taiwan, UTC - 3: Argentina, Bermuda, Brazil, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Chile, Falkland Islands, French Guiana, Uruguay - among other relevant locations broadly within these time zones.\n\nWe’re looking for you to have the following qualifications:\n\n\n* A minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in a full stack engineering role, but if you’re more senior that’s great too\n\n* You are ideally located in UTC+ 8 hours or UTC -3 hours to work collaboratively with our current remote team\n\n* We are also open to someone with front-end experience who is smart and eager to hone their back-end skills \n\n* Experience building web applications, preferably within an enterprise context\n\n* You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards understandability and maintainability\n\n* You are a strong communicator - explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you\n\n* A creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilitiesIt would be great if you had experience at a startup and/or with a remote engineering team (but it’s not necessary)\n\n\n\n\nWhat you’ll get from SHIFT\n\n\n* In addition to competitive compensation, equity, health benefits and an annual learning grant, we offer our team the opportunity to:\n\n* Learn from a seasoned entrepreneurial leadership team\n\n* Solve relevant, complex and uncharted business problems\n\n* Opportunity to own projects and strategic priorities in a high learning environment - regardless of seniority\n\n* Build relationships across sectors, functions and time zones in a supportive and people-first environment\n\n* Contribute to the evolution of teams by helping to refine our digital tools and products\n\n\n\n\nSHIFT is an equal-opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company. We are not able to offer relocation at this time.\n\nOur Values\n\nAt SHIFT, we embrace and actively cultivate the following values:\n\nOwn it: We believe that anyone can be an owner and everyone at SHIFT must be an owner. A SHIFT owner is someone who: is willing to set a hard goal that they don’t necessarily know how to meet, will work to achieve that outcome despite inevitable obstacles, will solve the underlying problem vs. ticking a box to complete a task, asks for feedback and thought partnership, and communicates key learnings and their process throughout. \n\nDebate to great: We want the best ideas, ambitious goals and decisions. Almost no idea or goal is the best in its original form. We believe collective problem solving, debate and conflict sharpens ideas, ambitions and decisions into better versions, and can help everyone improve.\n\nShip fast, learn fast: We seek the shortest path to get to better outcomes. This means that we operate with pace and a focus on learning quickly so that we optimize our learning, in service of getting to the right answer in the least amount of time. \n\nPush our potential: We want everyone to be at the edge of their personal learning zone and we believe that most people have more learning capabilities than they know. We will find the opportunities, projects, roles and external resources needed to allow people to continually grow and learn.\n\nTeamwork is our foundation: We practice what we preach and have a deep understanding and appreciation for how important strong team foundations like psychological safety, mutual trust and strong communication are. We work hard to provide the space and opportunities needed to foster strong team foundations and we’ll also dogfood our own products regularly to keep us aligned. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nImagine working on a global communication network that’s used by 3.7 billion people and every day more than a quarter trillion messages cross this network. There’s just one problem: Because authentication isn’t built into this platform, nobody can be certain who is sending most of these messages. This gap means that companies are vulnerable to a whole host of attacks on their employees, partners, and customers. Whether it’s wire fraud, W-2 thefts, or “fake news” in an attempt to destroy a brand, companies have been powerless to protect themselves against these impersonation attacks.\n\nValimail solves this problem. We’ve built a revolutionary platform on top of open standards — DMARC, DKIM, and SPF — that for the first time makes it possible for any organization to protect itself against email impersonation. Valimail pioneered the notion of automated email authentication, with innovative components like our DNS-based Authenticator (including our patented Instant SPF). Our system enables organizations to authenticate their email quickly, easily, and reliably.\n\nWe’re committed to building a more trusted email ecosystem by being a leader in Email Authentication as a Service. As part of that commitment, we’re active participants in the open source and standards communities. We’re co-authors of open standards like ARC and BIMI, and contribute to a variety of open source projects that serve the wider community.\n\nAs Valimail’s Lead Ruby on Rails Engineer, you’ll be a major contributor to the company’s success. Whether it’s wire fraud, W-2 thefts, or “fake news” in an attempt to destroy a brand, companies have been powerless to protect themselves against these impersonation attacks.\n\n\nValimail solves this problem. As part of that commitment, we are active participants in the open source and standards communities. We’re co-authors of open standards like ARC and BIMI, and contribute to a variety of open source projects that serve the wider community.\n\nAs Valimail’s newest Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be a major contributor to the company’s success. You’ll share in the design, development, and deployment of major pieces of the Valimail system. Your technical contributions will help protect dozens of brands, authenticate hundreds of millions of emails every day, and protect people all over the world from fraud.\n\nIf you like the idea of working on planetary-scale messaging systems with some of the latest tools and making a difference in the lives of half the world’s population, we’d love to talk to you.\n\n\nWhat You'll be Doing\n\n\n* Developing new features and functionality in Ruby on Rails throughout the application suite and owning those features from inception to production.\n\n* Enhancing our zero-trust approach to email sender identity. \n\n* Working with proven industry standards including: DMARC, SPF, DKIM, DNS and BIMI.\n\n* Working with the team to continue planing, scaling, and developing the Valimail zero-trust environment.\n\n\n\n\nAbout You\n\n\n* 7+ years experience building solutions using the Ruby on Rails stack (Ruby, Javascript ES6 and/or React).\n\n* Define and communicate written plans for projects, laying out goals and challenges as well as the steps to execute.\n\n* Extensive experience working with gems in the Ruby/Rails ecosystem (e.g. Devise, Pundit, etc.). Open source contributions are a plus.\n\n* A dedication to automated testing, push-button deployment, and configuration management through IT automation.\n\n* Experience building large-scale production web applications with API interfaces.\n\n* Proven technical leadership making strong architectural decisions to address business and product needs.\n\n* A willingness to jump in and experiment with new technologies, and to get out of your comfort zone.\n\n* An understanding of the various components at the network layers.\n\n\n\n\nBonus Points\n\n\n* Ability and desire to operate as a technical leader and mentor.\n\n* Specific experience with real-world DNS and/or email authentication standards is a plus.\n\n* Passion for the mission of enhancing our zero-trust approach to email sender identity.\n\n* Ability to work effectively at all levels of the stack rails, Ruby, Javascript ES6 and/or React.\n\n* Experience building, provisioning, and deploying services in the cloud in an automated fashion.\n\n\n\n\n Valimail has offices in both San Francisco, CA & Denver, CO. While we would prefer to hire in either of these locations, we are open to remote engineers based in the United States. \n\nValimail is the trusted leader in fully automated email authentication, with the only comprehensive platform for anti-impersonation, brand protection, and compliance used by corporations and federal agencies such as Uber, Fannie Mae, WeWork, and the U.S. Agency for International Development. Valimail Enforce is the only FedRAMP-authorized email authentication service and, because it uses no personally identifiable information (PII), it is also GDPR compliant. Valimail authenticates billions of messages a month for some of the world's biggest companies, in finance, government, transportation, health care, manufacturing, media, technology, and more. Valimail is based in San Francisco, CA and Denver, CO.\n\nFor more information visit www.Valimail.com. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nWe are looking for an engineer with a “find a way or make a way” attitude that is excited to join a small but growing team that has more projects than developers. This opportunity is for someone excited for autonomy, ownership, and breadth of responsibility.\n\nOur environment is typical of a start-up:\n\n\n* We work in small teams, fast-paced, we all get a lot done by everyone wearing many hats.\n\n* We are serious about optimizing our time and staying focused on the most important goals and outcomes.\n\n* We are a remote team and are completely on board with 100% remote work, meaning we focus on over-communication to ensure we can stay in sync despite our physical distance.\n\n* We coordinate using a kanban board, hold a daily standup, and mostly communicate via ad hoc video calls and Slack.\n\n* We’re building lots of new things, but also maintaining a significant business. We are mindful of the balance and need to monitor and pay down tech debt and also innovate with exciting greenfield projects.\n\n\n\n\nTech stack.\n\n\n* Our retail application is a frontend-heavy PWA written in NodeJS and React, containerized via Docker, and Deployed via Kubernetes. We take critical feedback and push through to get the job done. \n\n\n\n* Rigor: We are data driven, analytical and exhaustive in decision making. \nAbout this job\n\nJob type:Full-time Experience level:Mid-Level, Senior, Lead Role:Frontend Developer\n\nRemote details\n\nEmployer's note:We're looking for someone in the DC to Richmond, VA area-ish; however, we could live with the NE corridor-ish. More in the posting.\n\nTechnologies\n\nangularjs ruby vue.js react angular\n\nJob description\n\nAre you a versatile developer (frontend and backend) with a touch of UX designer who is obsessive about creating thoughtful software that improves someone’s day? If so, we’d love to chat with you about adding some firepower to our senior product team -- a team who is actively helping women’s health providers spend more quality time with patients by fundamentally re-imagining their daily digital workflows. \n\n*** \nUpdate on 'Location' : So, while we do have the 'remote' flag on, we're *ideally* looking for someone in the Richmond, VA area-ish (think: 2 hour train ride, so DC to Raleigh to Charlottesville); however, we could live with the NE corridor-ish (think: <2 hour flight; our VP Engineering is near Boston), too. Our CEO works in an office in Arlington, VA, if you want to keep him company. Or, put another way: are you available to be in the Richmond, VA virtual office once every month-ish? Yeah, That'd be greaaaaaat... Don't forget the cover page on those TPS reports either.\n****\n\nIdeally you are as eager and passionate as we are about:\n\n\n* Crafting thoughtful user experiences that help people (in our case doctors, nurses, and medical assistants) make the best decisions possible while removing tedious BS from their daily workflow.\n\n\n\n* reducing the large amount of time that clinicians spend on documenting what they have already done (go ahead -- ask your doctor about how much they like their EHR (electronic health record) next time you’re sick)\n\n\n\n* re-imagining not only the traditional user experiences & workflow of EHRs, but also the medium through which the latest medical best practices can be actionably and seamlessly incorporated into delivering care.\n\n\n\n\nOK, you may not be super-passionate about these things right now (let’s face it -- medical workflows and “EHRs” sound pretty boring on paper), but you will be. Why? Because you’ll be building software that fixes INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING experiences for doctors. And it’s incredibly satisfying to modernize, replace & improve outdated, problematic software. It’s important. And you’ll be loved/adored for it. (And once you see the way this stuff is currently done, you’ll be left scratching your head or otherwise disappointed)\n\nA little about us...\n\nWe’re a small-but-mighty with funding and a strategic partnership with the most influential voice in women’s health: the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG).\n\nOur mission is to remove the digital roadblocks that interfere with healthcare providers’ ability to spend quality time with patients (Oh, and we try to help them make better decisions along the way as well).\n\n...A Lot About You\n\nIdeally, you are a multitalented wunderkind who runs circles around each of the below bullet points, but let’s be real: while some of these are must-have, many are wish-list. We may have gotten a bit carried away with these, so if feel your unique combination of skills is close-ish to the mark, don’t hesitate to reach out. In fact, do so enthusiastically.\n\n\n* ...you’re a software craftsperson with a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality -- there’s a lot of thoughtful, nuanced, nitty gritty work to get done.\n\n\n\n\n\n* … you have “X years of experience” Pshaw. We aren’t big on formal requirements in the credentials department; rather, we want to see what you’ve worked on. Show us a project you’re proud of that you shipped and we’ll start the conversation from there. But let’s not kid ourselves -- you should absolutely come without training wheels.\n\n\n\n\n\n* ... you are comfortable shifting gears between front-end Javascript and back-end Ruby-on-Rails when you need to… We have some folks who are stronger on the front end and some folks who are stronger on the back end. Our ideal is someone who has excellent design sensibilities and a firm grasp of HTML5 / CSS / SASS, ui toolkits like bootstrap, but also can talk about and implement good APIs to talk to the front end and also write code to connect to other APIs from our backend. \n\n\n\n\n\n* … you’re pretty opinionated about your design choices and can easily articulate/defend your design decisions/rationale when asked “Why did you <insert observation that challenges your design choice>?”\n\n\n\n\n\n* … you have solid AngularJS front-end development chops. But, because you love javascript frameworks in general, you’ve played around with -- and probably are opinionated about -- other frameworks like Angular(7), React, and Vue.js.\n\n\n\n* ... you have solid Ruby on Rails development jobs., Or, because you love software development in general, you're not worried about picking it up because you have other back-end experience that translates.\n\n\n\n\n\n* ...you should be able to design, architect & implement solutions that reflect your particular problem-solving approach (...and you’ll probably be solving a problem that was based on a story that you yourself were instrumental in either eliciting or refining).\n\n\n\n* … you’re a natural Design Thinker. Therefore, you’re good at leveraging your empathy to investigate both known and ambiguous aspects of a complex, convoluted story (lots of these in healthcare!) in order to discover hidden parameters and open alternative paths which may lead to the real story. \n\n\n\n\n\n* … you have an admirable understanding of the principles behind a good* RESTful API design. (*But also know enough to not let perfect get in the way of the good)\n\n\n\n* … you’re comfortable/knowledgeable with git. CI experience a bonus, but not required.\n\n\n\n* … you’ve worked at startups before or have always been looking for an excuse to.\n\n\n\n* … you work well in a loosely structured PM/Managerial environment (we’re agile with a “little a”)\n\n\n\n\nUs + You?\n\nAs the newest member our product team, you’ll be an integral part of every aspect of our business strategy, dev roadmap, technology architecture decisions, and, undoubtedly, will wear a lot of hats. \n\nOnes of these hats -- in addition to your techie/design hats -- will almost certainly be the Customer Hat. At Dorsata, we are fervent (rabidly obsessive, really) believers in frequent, high-touch interactions with our involved, loyal customer base, who drives our roadmap. As we've grown, developers are often removed from the day-to-day, but you should be the type of person who is able to empathize and ask good questions of customers.\n\nObligatory message: If you're a third-party recruiter who is looking to send us resumes, please don't. We don't accept resumes from third-party recruiters. No, we're not interested in how Yet Another Recruiting company can help us make the world a better place, etc.; we already know good people who do that when we need to. (We're amazed at the number of random LinkedIn messages from recruiters we see, both on the hiring and job seeking side. Yes, you're great human beings, but please move along.)\n\nAbout Dorsata\n\nDorsata’s clinical workflow intelligence platform is designed to work both top of and inside of the existing electronic health records (EHRs) that our customers use. The ACOG Prenatal Record -- our flagship product for the Dorsata platform -- is an AngularJS/Rails SPA designed collaboratively with women’s health providers to support the way that they work & think -- not tell them how to work & think (or add additional clerical burdens to their already-busy day). We want practitioners of women’s health to feel like they are using a piece of software not only designed for them, but by them. \n\nMore About Us :\n\nHow We Interview & Hire\n\nLike many of the other startups you are currently perusing on stackoverflow/angellist/hired/vettery/reddit/linkedIn/etc., our interview process begins with an intro call to help you learn more about the role, for us to hear more about you, and to help the two of us decide if Dorsata is a mutual fit. If we move forward, the next step will be a more in depth call with us that dives into some problem solving about healthcare. Based on that problem solving exercise, we do a quick real-world based coding test to make sure you actually do know AngularJS (or React or Vue or AngularX) / what a computer is.\n\nWe're small, so we also like to have people talk to our CEO.\n\nBenefits / Perks / Comp\n\n\n* Health Insurance / Dental\n\n* Market salary + equity participation opportunity\n\n* We are remote first, though we do have some space in Arlington, VA.
