\nDataStax delivers Apache Cassandra™ in a database platform purpose built for the performance and availability demands of IOT, web, and mobile applications. We are looking for a creative Software Engineer in Test with an inquisitive mind who can fearlessly undertake testing the internals of distributed storage systems.\n\n\nEssential Job Functions:\n\n\n\n* If you enjoy continually learning exciting technologies and want to be rewarded for solving complex problems with a resourceful, can-do attitude, this is the place for you. \n\n* In this role, you'll master and test the internals of Apache Cassandra as well as all clients that access these technologies. \n\n* The Software Engineer in Test will be responsible for authoring, executing and automating test plans for the Apache Cassandra. A heavy emphasis will be placed on server side, distributed test automation, with our primary language being Python. \n\n* This role will require you to use Java debugging and profiling tools, code dive into the code base, write user facing blog posts / tutorials, as well as debug customer issues.\n\n\n\n\nJob Requirements:\n\n\n\n* Strong aptitude for scripting, Linux administration, debugging in java and python environments\n\n* Knowledge of Python scripting a strong plus, but we offer this as an opportunity for a seasoned programmer to pick up a new skill\n\n* Understanding the complexities of testing in a distributed, big data environment, as well as testing a software platform that has an infinite input space\n\n* Strong knowledge of how to tune distributed systems for performance, and the curiosity to try new configurations\n\n* Passion for making great software in a small company setting\n\n* History of learning new technologies on the fly\n\n* Possessing assertive communication style\n\n* Experienced working in a distributed team and exchanging ideas via IRC and HipChat\n\n* Be a confident coder who is comfortable being code reviewed via github pull requests\n\n* Efficiency in working in an agile development process\n\n* Can be located anywhere in the world, but Europe is preferred\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

We are looking for a Test Engineer, focusing on writing, executing and automating test plans for the DataStax OpsCenter product, a leading big data platform for management and monitoring of Apache Cassandra and used by hundreds of companies to power their most important applications.\n\nCan be located anywhere in the U.S. \n\nEssential Job Functions:\n\n\n* Functional testing of the OpsCenter product\n\n* Validation of a web based user interface and backend services that provide distributed system monitoring (diagnostics, performance, alerting)\n\n* System administration\n\n* Contribute to functional testing, stress testing, and test automation\n\n* Helping to drive automation strategies for the different tiers of our application stack\n\n\n\n\nJob Requirements:\n\n\n* Highly flexible and comfortable working independently with little guidance in a quick paced, agile scrum environment\n\n* Aptitude for at least one of the following: scripting, Linux administration, and debugging in java and python environments\n\n* Passion for making great software in a small company setting\n\n* History of learning new technologies on the fly\n\n* Possessing assertive communication style\n\n* Experienced working in a distributed team and exchanging ideas via IRC and HipChat\n\n* Be a confident coder who is comfortable being code reviewed via github pull requests\n\n* Efficiency in working in an agile development process\n\n* Can be located anywhere in the U.S. \n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
