We are an open-core company built around our Open Source projects. We have raised over eight million USD so far and as we develop our products and expand our business, we are currently looking to grow our team.\n\nOur Applications Team\n\nThe Applications Team develops end-user applications on top of the source{d} stack. These applications go from CLI tools to GitHub bots or web applications.\n\nThe most active projects maintained by the Applications Team are:\n\n\n* Sourced-ce: A command line interface to deploy and manage source{d} Community Edition, written in Go and using Docker.\n\n* Sourced UI: A data visualization web application for the software development life-cycle. It is a fork of Apache Superset (Python, Flask, JavaScript, React) including bug fixes, new features and preset dashboards for source code analysis. The project includes contributions to upstream.\n\n* UAST Viewer: A frontend component to visualize Babelfish’ UAST. Written in JavaScript with React.\n\n\n\n\nOther projects, with varying degrees of activity, are:\n\n\n* Gemini: Duplicate code detection across git repositories. Written in Scala and Python, based on Apache Spark.\n\n* Lookout: A platform for automated code review. Written in Go.\n\n\n\n\nRole\n\nThis position is for a Lead Software Engineer in the Applications Team. The team currently consists of 4 members.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Participate in the design and implementation of the team’s projects.\n\n* Provide technical leadership by steering technical decisions and mentoring team members.\n\n* Coordinate and plan the team’s workflow, setting standards and leading by example\n\n* Management of the team in terms of people issues, regular coaching and performance management to help them develop and progress, and acting as a hiring manager for new members of the team\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* Strong software development skills, both front and back end, with a passion for different languages, as well as a desire to learn more.\n\n* Previous leadership experience directly managing a team, whether it be 2 or 20 people, and with the ability to plan on a project and people level.\n\n* Good communication skills. We have an opportunity to bring on software engineers who are comfortable working with multiple languages on our full stack application (Java/Spring and Angular/React) and our AWS cloud-based services mainly written in Python and NodeJS Lambda services. When our customer have issues, we have to jump in and give them help.\n\n\n\n\nSkills & Requirements\n\n\n* You are a Java expert with a strong understanding of Spring, MySQL, Linux, Apache ActiveMQ and are comfortable working with Cassandra, Redis or ElasticSearch.\n\n* You have experience with HTML5, CSS3 (Less), and JavaScript Framework (AngularJS, EmberJS or ReactJS) experience.\n\n* Experience or interest working with TypeScript and GraphQL.\n\n* Interest and/or experience with Python and NodeJS.\n\n* Have an eye for quality and have an interest in using tools/frameworks like Enzyme, Prettier, ReactTestRenderer, Jest, JUnit, StoryBook, etc...\n\n* Interest to work with newer technologies such Apache Kafka and AWS Lambda \n\n* Interest and experience working with Docker and Kubernetes as well as Vagrant and Ansible\n\n* AWS Services: S3, EC2, CloudFront, Lambda\n\n* You approach problems from a product perspective, thinking through how the user will interact with what you're building.\n\n* You have strong communication skills.
