BIG is looking for an experienced, hands-on SVP or VP of Engineering & Technology to join the core leadership team. The ideal candidate should have experience in startups, fast SaaS platforms in financial services, agile prototyping and large-scale deployment.\n\nPreferably located long-term in New York City or the Bay area with first 6 months in the NYC area.\n\nEssential Functions\nThis role is responsible for all aspects of the technology platform, architecture, application development, testing and mission critical deployment for the BIG business.\nTranslate the Product Team's roadmap into an engineering implementation plan and drive the execution.\nInstitute engineering processes and procedures to ensure development and testing to meet design specifications and requirements. \nLead by example and provide both thought leadership and execution excellence to a multi-disciplinary development team.\nContinuously assess existing software, infrastructure and potential partner capabilities. \n\nMin Qualifications\n8 years of related working experience, preferably some of it in fin-tech\nStrong coding experience in open source coding/ technologies, including Node.Js, Express, Python and Java.\nDetailed understanding and experience with Elastic Search, Reddis, MongoDB, GitHub, Jenkins and LiquidBase.\nExperience in iOS and Android mobile application development.\nPrior engagement with leading Cloud Platforms, including Amazon AWS and SFDC. \nKnowledge in Big Data Technologies, e.g. Hadoop and Apache Spark.\nTrack record of operating independently and demonstrating creativity, pragmatism, orientation to details, and an exceptional ability to deliver results in a highly disciplined manner.\nSolid experience in fostering seamless cross-functional working relationships in small to medium organizations.\nBrownie points for knowledge of the mortgage and financial service industry.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and a high volume workload with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
