\nAs a Frontend Developer you will play a key role in the delivery of Single Page Web applications that create a world-class Human Experience (HX) for the people that use them. You will be an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, self-motivated professional who will play a key role in our talented DevOps Team.\nPOSITION:\nFrontend Developer\nTEAM:\nDevOps Team\nREPORTS TO:\nHead of Web & API DevOps\nDIRECT REPORTS:\nN/A\nINTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:\nDigital Designers\n\n\nWHAT WILL YOU DO?\n\nYou will be responsible for the frontend development of digital products using Angular or React, HTML, and CSS using Sass, working closely with a senior digital designer, and other developers in the DevOps team. \nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n * Leading frontend development primarily in Angular, but with some potential React projects. \n * Work with Visual Studio and Git on Bitbucket Cloud, adhering to the Pull Request/code review process, and overall DevOps pipeline. \n * Work closely with the Digital Designers and full-stack developers on ensuring the best user experience.\n * Creating modern Single Page Application experiences compatibility across all major browsers on desktop, tablet and mobile phones.\n * Plan, develop, execute and maintain automated tests within the agreed processes, tools and methodologies.\n * Document code changes and adhere to high development standards.\n * Analyze requirements, determine technical approach and technical design and determine effort to deliver.\n * Provide realistic and achievable estimates against tasks and ensure they are met.\n * Proactively raise issues where it is unlikely that a timeline is going to be met due to an unforeseen challenge/s.\n * Support QA and deployment activities and troubleshoot production defects.\n * Contribute ideas and observations for new products, services, tools and process improvements.\n * Ensure that our project management process tools (Trello and Harvest) are kept up to date to assist the overall delivery planning. \n * Assist in the implementation of initiatives to drive productivity and efficiency where appropriate, and contribute to the Tech Share meetings and associated wikis. \n * Participate in internal and client facing meetings and workshops when required. \n * Keep up to date on the latest industry trends and new technologies.\n \n\n\nBenefits\n\nWHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK HERE?\n * You will get to work on a wide variety of projects across different industries with a niche size talented team. \n * We will ensure you have all the tools/devices you need to do your job, you can specify what hardware, devices you prefer to work with.\n * Option to work remotely. \n * If this doesnt suit you, you can work from our office in Ponsonby, Auckland. \n * A combination of remote + office is what most of the team does. \n \n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nJob description\n\nThe ideal candidate is proficient in both front and back end technologies with a deep understanding of Java, React/Angular, web architectures, UX design principles and practices, database technologies, cloud environments, containers, microservices, agile and DevOps methodologies as well as continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.\n\nThe selected candidate will be a member of a dynamic team and must have the ability to provide mentorship, coordination and support for peers.\n\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for:\n\n\n* developing both front-end and back-end components of a web applications including database models and APIs;\n\n* ensure responsiveness of applications and cross-platform optimization for mobile devices;\n\n* work alongside UX designers for web design features;\n\n* ensure security and data protection and integrity;\n\n* maintain code integrity and organization and provide adequate test coverage;\n\n* perform peer design and code reviews;\n\n* provide leadership and participate in design of overall architecture of complex, high performance enterprise applications;\n\n* present and defend architectural, design and technical choices;\n\n\n\n\nRequired skills and experience\n\n\n* 5+ years of experience of developing enterprise web applications in Java based technologies.\n\n* Expert knowledge of Java.\n\n* Expert knowledge of RESTful JSON APIs.\n\n* Expert knowledge of Spring and Spring Boot.\n\n* Expert knowledge of frontend technologies including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5, Bootstrap.\n\n* Expert knowledge of an ES6 javascript framework (React, Angular or Vue)\n\n* Experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift\n\n* Experience with a state management framework in an ES6 language (Redux or other).\n\n* Experience with agile software development practices.\n\n* Deep understanding of DevOps methodologies.\n\n* Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.\n\n* Comfortable with distributed version control (Git and Github).\n\n* Comfortable with Maven.\n\n* Comfortable with JavaScript build tools (e.g. npm).\n\n* Experience with responsive web design techniques / mobile first approach.\n\n* Deep understanding of containers and microservices architecture and best practices.\n\n* Experience developing and supporting high-volume, highly scalable, mission critical enterprise systems.\n\n* Experience delivering on complex customer projects and working against customer requirements with well-defined deadlines and timelines and in direct touch with customers.\n\n* Good spoken and written English communication skills.\n\n* Ability to prioritize workload and meet project deadlines.\n\n* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.\n\n* Ability to mentor peers.\n\n* Desire to learn new technologies and processes.\n\n\n\n\nDesired skills\n\n\n* Knowledge of UX design best practices.\n\n* Working knowledge of NodeJS.\n\n* Knowledge of Keycloak.\n\n* Experience with Red Hat Middleware\n\n* Experience with webpack.\n\n* Knowledge of web components or micro-frontends.\n\n\n\n\nAdditional requests\n\n\n* Ability to travel up to 80%\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
