**TalkJS**\n\nTalkJS lets developers build a perfect chat feature in just a few hours. We power communication in online marketplaces, community sites, trading platforms and so on.\n\nWe're product driven and we care tremendously about quality: We're out to build the tool that every developer worldwide will use to build chat/communication features. TalkJS touches millions of people and is growing quickly. \n\nWe're hiring smart & autonomous people to solve challenging problems. We think you ship your best work when you're happy, well-rested, have a healthy work/life balance, and get full autonomy to make the right calls. More info on [https://talkjs.com/jobs](https://talkjs.com/jobs).\n\n**Senior Fullstack Developer**\n\nWe want TalkJS to be the default tool for developers to build chat features. To accomplish that vision, we need to make TalkJS deliciously customizable and still fantastic out of the box.\n\nWe're looking to extend the team with someone who has broad front- and backend experience. Stack includes React/TypeScript/Elixir but it's OK if you're not experienced with all of those precisely. Our humble goal is to ship a product that's super simple to install, fantastic to use immediately, and infinitely customizable. Simple and customizable seem deeply at odds with each other, but we think we can pull it off. If you're up for the challenge of marrying the two, then this is for you.\n\nWe offer tremendous freedom and responsibility + work in a remarkably decent codebase (for a startup :D). At TalkJS we like to think that we're good at striking a balance between meticulous code and shipping quickly. If that sounds like your kind of environment, then this is for you.\n\n**Our ideal candidate:**\n\n* has broad technical interests\n* likes to design great APIs for other programmers\n* has demonstrable experience writing single-page web applications\n* has demonstrable experience writing backends\n* knows at least 3 programming languages well\n* likes to work together with the team to make our product better across the board\n\nBonus points if you know Elixir.\n\nSalary varies with seniority and is benchmarked to Dutch/Amsterdam norms. \n\nPlease mention the words **CORRECT GAME DEAL** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4zNg==). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n $50,000 — $90,000/year\n \n\n#Location\nCETยฑ2h (= Europe / Africa)
# How do you apply?\n\nThis job post has been closed by the poster, which means they probably have enough applicants now. Please do not apply.

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. Apply for this job

๐Ÿ‘‰ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!

When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. \nYou'll be working on Rezzonation, our brand new platform that will cause a revolution in digital entertainment. We start by solving the problem of playlist sharing between existing audio platforms. Think about metadata matching, audio fingerprinting, crawlers. Integrating live audio streaming services will be next. Since you'll be working in a startup, your main repsonsibility will be backend, but you should be able to adapt the frontend just as easy to connect to your new features. We don't have the luxury of a big front- and backend team, yet ;-)\n\nWe expect from you\n\nWeb development is your favourite activity anyway? Are your interested in audio, streaming media and starting a revolution? Are you a keen learner? Do you like tinkering with the latest web technology? Then you will definitely have an interesting time at Rezzonation! You know your way around in software development. You're handling both backend and frontend development with ease. You know the definition of done is not: it works for me?! So you don't hesitate to actually test your software on Android and iOS hardware? You can give and receive code-reviews as a professional who wants to improve him/herself and collegues? You know what version control is and why you should be using it.\n\nYou're ready to expand your horizons? Then you will definitely have an interesting time with us!\n\nYou'll be joining a friendly environment in which you don't have to be afraid to speak your mind or ask permission about how you think you should get something done. As long as your goal aligns with that of the team: get things done!\n\nYour skills\n\n\n* You're experienced in NodeJS, babel, reactJS\n\n* You're experienced in Cordova, iOS and/or Android development?\n\n* You like working with people from other planets like designers and business developers.\n\n* You're not someone who waits until told what to do but contributes and takes initiative\n\n* Previous experience into audio/video streaming is a plus\n\n* Previous experience into cloud deployments, devops is a plus\n\n* Fluent in English speaking/wording. Dutch is a plus\n\n\n\n\nWhat to expect from us\n\nYou'll be joining the (remote working) team of 6. A healthy combination of business savvy and software developers. Two founders recently sold their former company after growing it to 100 employees. This time, we're reaching even higher! Rezzonation: One application. Build a brand new entertainment platform which combines live entertainment streaming channels with social media networking. We were so impressed with the productivity boost weโ€™re also now incorporating GraphQL into our primary Rails application\nUsing Kubernetes to deploy standalone environments for our feature branches, complete with anonymised production data\nRe-thinking how we test Javascript and what the line should be between unit tests and acceptance tests\nAbout the role\n\nWeโ€™ve been growing rapidly over the last three years and as we start our international roll out, weโ€™re looking for ambitious engineers to help us build the future of work. Our engineering principles https://writing.joincatapult.com/engineering-principles/ give a good feel for how we work together and what we value.\n\nYouโ€™ll be working joining out remote team so working from anywhere in Europe is fine! \nYou've been hooked on coding since your first Hello World!\n\nBut you want to solve real problems and go home at the end of the day knowing that your work makes a difference.\n\nYou've probably used speedtest.net to check your bandwidth. Perhaps you'd be surprised to know that every day 5 million people use our app on the web, on iOS and Android.  It's even embedded in routers.\n\nYou've been looking to own a major component, to continuously evolve it and to find the sweet spot between elegance and getting things done. You know HTTP inside and out. You enjoy how much you can get done with a few lines in Node. Callbacks are second nature and you have an opinion on promises. Perhaps you wish JSON allowed trailing commas.\n\nOokla is a small team of passionate individuals who have turned a clever idea into a thriving business, and have gained an invaluable insight into the state of the Internet on a truly global scale.\n\nAnd we are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own our web applications.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\n* You will own the development of our web applications, one of the core components of the Speedtest platform. This includes design, implementation, testing and deployment.\n\n* You will be asked to solve for reliability, scale and flexibility, as well as implement a visually rich and slick user experience.\n\n* You will collaborate on the architecture, technology choices, and interactions with other core components such as backend APIs, analytics, our distributed testing network and other application platforms (mobile and native).\n\n* You will focus on the front-end but be capable of developing across the full stack with little or no assistance.\n\n* You will collaborate with a small group of independently motivated team members who love to get things done.\n\n\n\n\nBenefits\n\nOokla has great benefits including competitive compensation, full medical, dental and vision benefits for you and your family, a generous vacation and holiday plan, and more. We also provide the best hardware, software and tools available for you to do your work. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to JavaScript, Node, API, Admin, Mobile, Senior, Android, Medical, Engineer, Sys Admin, Backend, Full Stack, Design, Developer and Digital Nomad jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $120,000/year\n

*While the skills below should serve as a guide for interested candidates, the most important quality we're looking for is a hunger for learning. It's fine if you don't recognize a certain tool or framework, but VERY important to us that you're willing to learn a new toolkit if you haven't used it before. \n\n\n\nSkills & Requirements \n\nโ€”Candidates with at least a BS/BA in CS or related fields preferred, but non-traditional candidates with strong portfolios and past experience welcome. \n\nโ€”At least 2-3 years experience developing varied web applications using modern stack combinations such as MEAN (MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node) or Backbone/Ruby-on-Rails. TapTapeโ€™s current stack employs an Ember/Rails/MySQL combo. \n\nโ€”Comfortable with development tools such as Git and tasks (e.g. deployment, version control) through the command-line interface \n\nโ€”Fully at ease with modern front-end development and familiar with challenges of cross-broswer and mobile-friendly development. Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/CoffeeScript a must; ideally familiar with common front-end tools and libraries such as Modernizr. \n\nโ€”Familiar with common testing tools of different paradigms such as Mocha or Cucumber. Experience and comfort with workflow tools like Bower or Grunt a bonus. \n\n\n\n\nBonus Skills \n\nFront-end/design leaning: \nโ€”Familiar/Experience with Adobeโ€™s Creative Cloud Suite, especially designing mockups and assets/vector graphics (e.g. logos, icons) with Photoshop and Illustrator. \nโ€”Experience with new and current design/mockup tools such as Macaw or Balsamiq \n\nBack-end/sysadmin leaning: \nโ€”Database administration experience \n\nAdditional: \nโ€”Experience developing native mobile apps, and familiarity with iOS/Cocoa, Android etc. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n $40,000 — $60,000/year\n
\n\n#Benefits\n ๐Ÿ’ฐ 401(k)\n\n๐ŸŒŽ Distributed team\n\nโฐ Async\n\n๐Ÿค“ Vision insurance\n\n๐Ÿฆท Dental insurance\n\n๐Ÿš‘ Medical insurance\n\n๐Ÿ– Unlimited vacation\n\n๐Ÿ– Paid time off\n\n๐Ÿ“† 4 day workweek\n\n๐Ÿ’ฐ 401k matching\n\n๐Ÿ” Company retreats\n\n๐Ÿฌ Coworking budget\n\n๐Ÿ“š Learning budget\n\n๐Ÿ’ช Free gym membership\n\n๐Ÿง˜ Mental wellness budget\n\n๐Ÿ–ฅ Home office budget\n\n๐Ÿฅง Pay in crypto\n\n๐Ÿฅธ Pseudonymous\n\n๐Ÿ’ฐ Profit sharing\n\n๐Ÿ’ฐ Equity compensation\n\nโฌœ๏ธ No whiteboard interview\n\n๐Ÿ‘€ No monitoring system\n\n๐Ÿšซ No politics at work\n\n๐ŸŽ… We hire old (and young)\n\n
