\nThe Role:\n\nAnalytics, Trading, and Execution is the largest and fastest growing department in R&D, and we are looking to add skilled software developers to our six core groups. The applications and infrastructure we build connect supply and demand across all asset classes on worldwide exchanges. Trillions of dollars of capital move through our systems daily; as a result, market leaders rely on us to flawlessly and seamlessly manage their positions and execute their orders.\n\nWe are looking for bold, energetic, and independent developers to take ownership and responsibility in growing our industry leading applications. The ideal candidates should be able to lead projects, work with the business, meet clients, and understand their workflows to build high performance software. Our engineers are responsible for front-end UI/workflow applications, server-side/back-end development, system design, and high performance transactional database programming.\n\n>> More information on individual groups and their products can be found below. When you apply, you will have the ability to select your preferred group.\n\nTrading Solutions\n\nTrading Solutions is the largest group within Analytics, Trading, and Execution. The group designs and builds Bloomberg's three core order management systems, a fully developed connectivity and integration product and an order execution platform. These mission-critical trading applications are used by broker dealers and investment advisers throughout the world for managing orders, executions, quotes and positions. We are the global leader in building and delivering vital financial trading applications that allow banks and investment managers to manage their order flow, risk, P&L and the entire trade life cycle. Institutions rely on our advanced tools for market compliance, connectivity and algorithmic strategy trading. Collectively, our teams provide a front to back environment to meet our clients' ever changing needs.\n\nFixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities\n\nThe Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) electronic trading group develops a global product that facilitates dealer to client trading, liquidity, and straight through processing using the Bloomberg terminal. It is the primary mechanism by which our buy-side clients source liquidity. Over the last 20 years, FICC has evolved from selling a simple dealer platform to offering a sophisticated trading platform with an array of trading styles. Responsibilities include infrastructure design and implementation, database management and user interface development.\n\nEquity Trader\n\nThe Equity Trader group provides highly resilient, efficient, configurable and distributed real-time trading platforms. We build the analytics used to make trading decisions, the UI used to interact with the market and other traders, tools to automate workflow, and advanced alerting to monitor ongoing activity. The system handles millions of transactions per day and enables traders to send orders to over 5,000 liquidity destinations globally. The transactions are published and mined for real-time analytics and post-trade execution analysis, and are then fed back into the system to shape tomorrow's trading decisions.\n\nInstitutional Sales Applications\n\nThe Institutional Sales Applications group develops multi-asset applications for sales professionals that empower them to provide world-class service to their institutional clients. Our applications leverage sophisticated algorithms to present easy to understand answers to questions that a salesperson faces throughout the day. Successful developers are interested in finding solutions to manage and distill large volumes of disparate data.\n\nPortfolio and Risk Analytics\n\nThe Portfolio and Risk Analytics group develops applications that provide transparency to asset managers and analysts, to help them to make well-informed financial decisions. Our clients use our real-time system for performance analysis and returns attribution, risk analytics, intraday monitoring, optimization and idea generation. Portfolio and Risk Analytics also provides a suite of global, transparent and independent indices to serve the needs of the investment community. Our team applies broad financial and mathematical knowledge across a range of asset types to develop a constantly growing set of analytics. The scale of these calculations offers opportunities for optimizing the system using Hbase, Spark, Redis and Solr. The team is redesigning a large part of our architectural stack to keep pace with the tremendous growth of our product.\n\nTradebook\n\nTradebook is building the next generation low latency trading platform, which supports multi-asset trading, exchange routing and order matching. With high capacity and sub-microsecond latency, the new system will be the foundation for Tradebook's future and propel it into more markets. Bloomberg Tradebook is a leading agency broker and technology provider of a cross-asset electronic trading platform, supporting equities, futures, options and FX trading.
