The product engineering team at TaxJar is solving complex problems on a daily basis, supporting our growing customer base and creating new solutions in a complex domain. We deal with large datasets, complex frequently-changing sales tax rules, and automating complex processes for thousands of business customers.\n\n*This is a full-time remote position, available to folks located in the US.\n\n\nAs a QA Automation Engineer at TaxJar you will\n\n\n* Work with the Engineering team in developing a QA testing strategy for projects\n\n* Determining the appropriate balance of manual and automated tests, as well as the types of tests (UI, API, functional/performance/load, and so on)\n\n* Build end-to-end smoke tests\n\n* Create processes to validate data quality\n\n* Improve and build upon our test suite, test guidelines, and testing culture\n\n\n\n\n\n* Execute and report on the full test suite of our applications\n\n\n\n\n\n* Review and test your teammates pull requests\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\n\n* 3+ years of Software Testing & Engineer experience\n\n* Advanced problem-solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills\n\n* Proven and demonstrable skill building end-to-end smoke tests\n\n* Experience working both Ruby and JavaScript test frameworks\n\n* A strong understanding of Ruby on Rails and RSpec\n\n* Ability to manage tasks from assignment through to production\n\n* Agile, humble, trustworthy, and a team player\n\n* Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment\n\n* Excel at communicating with the team remotely (chat, video, email, etc)\n\n\n\n\n\nYou’ll be a great fit on our team if you\n\n\n* Have experience improving test suite performance\n\n* Can perform load testing for services at scale\n\n* Can document your morning routine using UML\n\n* Only want to work remotely\n\n* Are accountable for the code you deliver to production\n\n* Are a PRO at communicating and collaboration\n\n* Highly value working with people you like and respect\n\n* Are accountable\n\n* Are confident in your skills and a solid team player (We’re peers here, no egos please) but also comfortable working asynchronously\n\n* Hungry to play an impactful role and not afraid to fail\n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re a happy team and we all really love what we do. \nClarity Services, a part of Experian, is a credit bureau that provides reporting on near-prime, non-prime and subprime consumers. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the software engineering team. This is a position that can be done virtually from a home office. We are building out development infrastructure, automation, and AWS integration. This is the first dedicated position for this work and the person will be critical in steering the direction of these projects.\n\nWe have about two terabytes of data in MySQL and MongoDB. We use Rails on JRuby to run over a million transactions for our customers every day. Our typical response times are 1-2 seconds for a basket of products and we maintain uptimes north of 99.99%.\n\nOur environment:\n * Ruby on Rails currently at 4.2, moving to 5.1\n * Git/GitHub repository, Jira for ticket tracking/scrum sprints and GitHub for code reviews.\n * 1:1 test coverage for most of the codebase and 2:1 for prime areas.
