Assess network performance and troubleshoot any connectivity issues during the migration process. Provide expert guidance on network automation, security, and compliance considerations specific to the public sector agency. Designing and implementing networking solutions, troubleshooting network issues, and providing strategic advice for successful application migrations to the cloud.\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Collaborate with clients to understand their application networking requirements, dependencies, and performance expectations for successful migrations\n\n* Collaborate with application teams, cloud architects, and engineers to ensure smooth integration of application networking components within the cloud environment\n\n* Experience with designing, maintaining, and provide subject matter expertise for network connections within and interfaces outside current network boundaries\n\n* Assess existing network architectures and design cloud networking solutions that ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance connectivity that adhere to industry regulations and compliance frameworks\n\n* Develop comprehensive network migration plans, including network discovery, assessment, and planning for transitioning application networks to the cloud\n\n* Design and implement cloud networking architectures, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, routing, load balancing, and connectivity options, aligning with best practices for application migration\n\n* Configure and optimize cloud networking services, including but not limited to Amazon VPC, AWS Transit Gateway, AWS Direct Connect, or AWS Network Firewall, to provide seamless and reliable network connectivity for migrated applications\n\n* Conduct network performance analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting during the migration process to identify and resolve connectivity and performance issues affecting application performance\n\n* Implement network security measures, including firewalls, access controls, and encryption, to protect application networking environments in the cloud.\n\n* Assist in evaluating and selecting appropriate network monitoring and management tools for cloud networking environments to ensure ongoing visibility and control\n\n* Stay updated with emerging cloud networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to application migrations to the cloud\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n\n* Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in related discipline AND\n\n* Minimum Experience: 4 years' experience in networking preferably specialized cloud technologies OR\n\n* Substitution/Alternative to Minimum Education and Experience: Must have at least 12 years of on-the-job experience\n\n* Be able to work remotely but, be able to go on-site as requested and/or occasionally with potentially some form of post-pandemic cadence, on-site in Washington DC\n\n* AWS Professional Certifications – Advanced Networking Specialty or Solutions Architect and/or DevOps Certifications; The Principal AWS Cloud Architect will act as an expert and trusted advisor who provides guidance for transforming legacy implementations to the cloud. This role will provide technical leadership, driving innovation and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects.\n\n \n\nWhat You’ll Do:\n\n\n* Responsible for design, development, and hands-on implementation of Amazon Web Services cloud solutions\n\n* Serve as an AWS technical resource in team’s efforts to determine the needs of our client’s businesses that will simplify and automate the applications as well as make them more efficient\n\n* Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of our customer's AWS foundational footprint\n\n* Work closely with other Trace3 architects and engineers to recommend and design infrastructure, database, or data storage solutions that effectively reflect our client’s business needs, security, and service level requirements\n\n* Work with application and infrastructure teams to conduct proof of concepts (POCs) and implement Production-ready designs in Amazon Web Services\n\n* Align solutions with standards and best practices working with cross-functional engineering and consulting teams\n\n* Perform risk analysis & create mitigation strategies for continuous evaluation and validation or system design and architecture\n\n* Ability to produce as-built documentation and materials\n\n* Ability to design, build, and execute automation frameworks for deployment of AWS Cloud Environments (based on CloudFormation templates, Terraform, AWSCLI, others)\n\n* Support pre-sales activities when needed\n\n* Collaborate and communicate with Sales and Account Management team to ensure smooth and successful delivery and assist with the identification of additional Advanced Services and Sales opportunities within the customer’s environment\n\n* Establish strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers in client organizations\n\n* Contribute to the development of internal best practices as well as new innovative consulting services offerings that we can take to market\n\n* Provide guidance and mentorship to project teams, assisting in solving technical challenges and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects.\n\n* Build a community and following around our company solutions and brand awareness\n\n\n\n\nQualifications & Interests:\n\n\n* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required or equivalent work experience\n\n* 8+ years of experience with implementation and support of infrastructure services on AWS, AWS DevIo Experience  (CodeBuild, CodePipeline, CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, AWS Config, AWS Systems Manager, CloudWatch, Lambda experience) (additional DevOps experience like Jenkins and Azure DevOps is good, but not required)\n\n* 5 years of experience with current operating system administration (Examples: Windows, Linux, Ubuntu and CentOS)\n\n* 4 years of experience with APIs, performing commands through CLI to perform implementations and third-party integrations\n\n* 4 years of experience with cloud network connectivity and ExpressRoute, and ability to troubleshoot cloud connectivity issues\n\n* Previous experience working for a consulting or services organization strongly preferred\n\n* AWS Certified Solution Architect and/or DevOps Engineer\n\n* AWS Cloud Platform Experience\n\n* Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Ruby, or GoLang- specifically including experience creating and consuming RESTful APIs as well as AWS Lambda\n\n* Automation experience with CloudFormation, (Terraform, Jenkins, Git, others are a plus)\n\n* Experience deploying ControlTower with GuardRails in production\n\n* Kubernetes (Vanilla or EKS/ECS) and OpenShift 4.x experience in production (containerization and ops)\n\n* Knowledge of IAM integration with AWS environments\n\n* Experience aiding with operationalizing AWS cloud environments using AWS native and third-party tools for monitoring and management\n\n* Ability to mix deep technical expertise with simple, everyday language to deliver a story that is memorable, educational and useful\n\n* Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment\n\n* Ability to approach customer and sales requests with a proactive and consultative manner;
