๐Ÿ‘‰ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.

\nDoes a smooth running web app tickle you pink? Or do you find yourself instinctively fist pumping to responsive websites? If you believe that developing user-centric web apps in a collaborative environment is your calling, we want you here. Work with our growing web engineering team as you construct web apps from the ground up.\n\nDuring your time as a Bushel Web Engineer, you’ll be working alongside the pack of wickedly slick Bushel Web Engineers. Together, you’ll work to design and develop front and backend web applications. You’ll be expanding your skill set by working alongside cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. As a Bushel Web Engineer, you’ll be writing automated unit and integration tests to ensure code robustness, usability, and reliability. Our main stack is PHP 7, Laravel 5, Kotlin/Java, MySQL, and ReactJS with deployment assistance from Docker and Kubernetes. We are also transitioning parts of our work from PHP to a Java/Spring service architecture.\n\nAs a Senior Web Engineer, you will be expected to participate in architectural discussions, help with estimations, lead large projects with multiple developers from an architectural and development perspective, and be proficient in multiple development stacks and/or platforms. Millions of people discover nature with our apps: We help our users find great places and the best routes for cycling and hiking. To help us continue to do so, we are looking for a passionate backend engineer to build the future of outdoor guides with usโ€”and to inspire people to explore more of the great outdoors every day.\nAs a lean startup, we aim for impact and look for pragmatic solutions based on the latest infrastructure and platforms. As komootโ€™s next backend engineer, you know the importance of self-healing and scaling systems, you build your software stack accordinglyโ€”and you always find simple solutions to complex problems.\n**Your key responsibilities**\n- Implement new features closely together with our web and mobile developers, designers, copywriters and product managers.\n- Keep our system state-of-the-art and resilient as load and features increase.\n- Join the challenge of operating an auto-scaling fleet of 50+ EC2 instances, SQS, DynamoDb, Lambda, Kinesis and more, all within the AWS universe.\n- Build new and improve existing micro-services, primarily in Java or Kotlin.\n**Why you will love it**\n- Youโ€™ll work on a global product that inspires millions of users.\n- Youโ€™ll get system access on your first day as we know you are a smart and responsible engineer.\n- Youโ€™ll take ownership over your projects from day one (from concept to implementation; testing, deployment and monitoring).\n- Youโ€™ll be offered ample opportunity to consistently improve your skills and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies.\n- Youโ€™ll work with komootโ€™s entire backend team on the full system: Youโ€™ll constantly contribute to the big picture rather than just a subsystem\n- We believe good ideas count more than hierarchies.\n- Youโ€™ll work together with enthusiastic engineers, hikers and cyclists.\n- We let you work from wherever you want, be it a beach, the mountains, our headquarters in Potsdam or anywhere that lies between the time zones UTC-1 and UTC+3\n**You will be successful in this position if you**\n- Are highly self-driven, responsible and keen to learn and improve.\n- Know your toolkit: git, ssh, bash, junit, jenkins, docker and AWS.\n- Have deep experience (4+ years) in developing distributed and resilient web applications.\n- Are fluent in Kotlin or Java and interested in other languages, such as Python or JavaScript.\n- Know which pattern, framework and infrastructure can best solve your problem.\n- Live and breathe DevOps and believe in automated testing, infrastructure as code, immutable infrastructure, continuous deployment, monitoring and open communication\n**Sound like you?**\nThen send us the following:\n- Your CV\n- Why you are interested in working at komoot\n- Examples of your work (e.g. GitHub, PDFs, Slideshare, etc.)\n- A little extra information about you, be it your OpenStreetMap contributions, your Twitter, Tumblr or Flickr profile, or your website. We want to see what youโ€™re interested in! \n\nPlease mention the words **COIN REVEAL EASY** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMDc=). Repable powers data-informed decision making for streamers and eSports athletes. Our passion is gaming, and we're constantly flipping back and forth between hard work and quick bursts of Overwatch, Hearthstone, League & other games. We usually have Azubu, Twitch or YouTube live streaming in the background. Our expertise is in analytics & data, and we're pooling on that knowledge to change the way the gaming industry operates. \n\nWeโ€™re currently looking for a back-end developer to turn our MVP into something scalable. The position requires a lot of flexibility and deep knowledge in scraping and API consumption. Ideally, you have experience working with startups and/or with analytics companies. You'll be working with a rounded team of individuals, including a product manager, a front-end developer and a dedicated UI/UX designer. Given that the team is small, you'll be able to dabble into many parts of the development process, while keeping a strong focus on our back-end services. \n\nWeโ€™re a small team based out of Toronto, ON but are looking for like-minded individuals to grow with us within North America. You don't need to live in Canada to be eligible for this position, but we'd prefer it if you were. \n\nWhat Your First Year Will Look Like: \n\n- You'll be an integral part of building the Repable platform. This includes API integration with 3rd party sites, web scraping using AWS / cloud services, and the set up of a basic consumer-facing SaaS service back end.\n- Youโ€™ll play a role in the direction and growth plan of product, and implement that vision from a tech perspective. This means that some days, youโ€™ll be discussing traffic growth and elasticity with the team, the advisors and investors of the company.\n- Youโ€™ll help the company stay real, by showing us solutions that will give us 80% of what we need for 20% of the cost. \n\nRequirements:\n\n- Mastery of web scraping and consuming information from third party APIs are a must. You'll have shown a track record of doing this in the past. \n- A thorough understanding of Amazon Web Services and competing suites of products. \n- Extensive experience in your front-end language of choice. No, really. Weโ€™re agnostic at this point, but we do have opinions. \n- Youโ€™ve successfully led or substantially participated in the development and deployment of a client-facing SaaS app. \n- Youโ€™re comfortable with product development and web operations. You can easily interact with product managers, designers, engineers, web operators and BI / analytics teams. \n- You can tell us during our initial meetings all about SaaS apps and what particular challenges they bring, and how youโ€™ve overcome some of them.\n- Youโ€™ll temper dreams and be able to propose solutions that will give the company 80% of what it needs for 20% of the cost. \n\nQualifications:\n\nExperience: 1 to 5 years experience in a similar role.\n\nSkills:\n\nSystem Architecture, Web Operations, Amazon Web Services (AWS), API consumption, Web Scraping, Backend Development \n\nPerks:\n\n- Work with people who have done this before\n- A competitive startup salary\n- Stock options - a part of this company could be yours\n- Grow the early stage of a company\n\n\nExtra tags: Web Operations, Amazon Web Services (AWS), API Consumption, Web Scraping, Back-end Development \n\nPlease mention the words **COIL BADGE HIDDEN** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMDc=).
