Our catalog includes: Starry Night (starrynight.com), The Layered Earth (layeredearth.com) and SkySafari (skysafariapp.com).\n\nWe are looking for a superstar System Administrator / DevOps Engineer / Backend Developer to manage day-to-day maintenance, development, server restructuring and service upgrades.\n\nThe position is available via telecommuting, but a candidate based in the Montreal, QC area or Minneapolis, MN may be preferred.\n\nAs the Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer you would:\n\n- Manage AWS setups including OpsWorks, EC2, CloudFront, Lambda, RDS and others.\n\n- Take care of DNS and other cloud services that Simulation Curriculum uses \n- Build web tools for internal use with PHP/Python/SQL/HTML/CSS/JavaScript \n- Help design and improve our server hierarchy by doing research on different technologies and services that we could utilize\n\n- Remotely manage OS X colocated machines.\n- Assist in improving our current database structure \n- Maintain our existing servers and services \n- Improve our logging and problem detection strategies \n- Write shell scripts to automate some of the server tasks \n- Manage server security and backup\n\n- Assist in testing new software and software updates that rely on back-end services \n- Assist in maintaining our websites and web services \n- Implement new websites/services and suggest improvements where possible \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nPositions are available for talented and passionate software engineers in a new Decentralized Systems Security/Privacy lab to be led by Prof. Bryan Ford at EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland. The lab will advance the state of the art in privacy-preserving decentralized systems through both basic research and advanced software development. The ideal candidate has been coding since childhood because it was fun, likes to build software systems normal people can use, and believes their code can change the world for the better. A deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, and applied cryptography is a major bonus.\n\n\nMajor duties and responsibilities \nThe software engineers will work with Prof. Ford and a team of PhD students and postdocs to design, implement, document, and deploy highly usable open-source privacy-enhancing tools and infrastructure.
