Remote Senior Data Engineer
\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing scalable, robust data architectures and solutions utilizing the latest technologies from Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and develop well-designed and sustainable solutions. Your primary focus will be on identifying data gaps within our Accounting and Internal Audit functions and works with stakeholders to design tailored solutions that address long-standing data quality issues and automate manual processes.\n\nWhat You Get To Do Every Day\n\n\n* Regularly meet with stakeholders in Accounting and Internal Audit to deeply understand their requirements and objectives.\n\n* Analyze current financial reporting processes to identify and address data quality issues to ensure accurate and reliable data for decision-making.\n\n* Evaluate existing accounting processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and develop strategies for improvement.\n\n* Develop architectural diagrams, data flow diagrams and other essential design documents.\n\n* Assist in preparing cost-benefit analyses to help leadership make informed architectural decisions.\n\n* Advocate for the reuse of data assets and manage the data catalog for data consistency and discoverability.\n\n* Collaborate with various stakeholders in the company to design scalable and robust solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services, GitHub and DBT. Develop detailed plans to implement these solutions effectively.\n\n* Leverage industry standards in Accounting and Finance to develop data solutions that streamline services for both operational and analytical purposes.\n\n* Create a comprehensive observability stack focused on monitoring and maintaining the health of accounting processes. Ensure proactive issue detection and remediation to support continuous process improvement.\n\n\n\n\nWhat You Bring To The Role\n\nMinimum Requirements:\n\n\n* At least 5 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer in a data-driven midsize to large corporations.\n\n* 4+ years proven track record of delivering large scale, high quality operational or analytical data systems.\n\n* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex data requirements.Advanced-level proficiency in Python and SQL.\n\n* Advanced-level proficiency in Object Oriented Programming.\n\n* Hands-on prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services - Bigquery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, Cloud Function and Cloud Storage.\n\n* Practical experience with DBT (Data Build Tool).\n\n* Strong proficiency in Github and Github Actions.\n\n* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.\n\n* Ability to work independently and quickly become productive after joining.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Requirements:\n\n\n* Experience in the e-commerce industry.\n\n* Knowledge of accounting and finance data processes.\n\n* Familiarity with other cloud platforms and data engineering tools.\n\n\n\n\nGHR9246 #LI-MR10 #LI-Remote \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
