\nAbout Our Team:\n\nThe AdRoll Billing, Payment, Accounting and Finance Engineering team is a (very) small but resourceful group responsible for a critical part of AdRoll’s platform. Building, expanding, and supporting AdRoll's automated billing system and it's many complementary integrations is a complex task that requires strong reasoning skills, a bit of financial acumen, and editorial disciple that is often lost in software development. In addition to core application responsibilities, we also support our finance department and AdRoll's customers directly through automation, reporting, and the creation of user-facing and employee-facing tools.\n\nTogether we will take on exciting and challenging areas like automated billing and payments, currencies and conversion, account keeping, billing specific UIs, aggregated reporting from many data sources, complex integrations with payment providers and financial systems, and billing as a service in a multi-product environment.\n\nWho We're Looking For:\n\nYou are delighted by the idea that your code will be part of a critical platform component, used by every single customer, with little to no margin for error. You have some experience in the billing and/or finance domain. Quick test: one or more of the phrases 'gateway', 'deferred revenue', and/or 'general ledger' mean something to you. You may have even designed or implemented payment/invoicing integrations or systems in the past.\n\nIn a more general sense, you can design and build scalable, fast, fault tolerant systems that minimize customer impact in case of failures and errors. You can architect and build systems that can process a high volume of transactions while maintaining state. Your experience working with systems gives you insight into building APIs and services which can be easily extended. And you understand the fundamentals and importance of building secure systems which protect sensitive data.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n\n* Help make decisions that influence the future of AdRoll's Billing System\n\n* Design, implement and maintain software responsible for:\n\n\n* Keeping accurate and detailed customer accounts\n\n* Writing invoices\n\n* Processing payments and refunds\n\n* Integrating with international payment providers (Braintree, Adyen) as well as complementary systems like Salesforce and Netsuite\n\n* Provide reporting and analytics to complementary teams like Finance and BI\n\n\n\n\n\n* Work with the finance team to formalize and automate processes and improve AdRoll for customers and employees alike\n\n* Investigate issues and improvement opportunities in the Billing & Finance domain and pursue them with innovative solutions\n\n\n\n\nQualifications:\n\n\n* Self-directed and resourceful\n\n* You employ careful design methodologies with an emphasis on simplicity, reliability and legibility\n\n* You have experience with Python, Ruby or similar dynamic programming language and UNIX-like systems\n\n* Humble -- happy to work on critical-but-sometimes-invisible systems\n\n\n\n\nBonus Points:\n\n\n* Background in finance or accounting\n\n* Familiar with GAAP\n\n\n\n\nCompensation:\n\n\n* Competitive salary and equity\n\n* Medical / Dental / Vision benefits\n\n* Paid time off and generous holiday schedule\n\n* The opportunity to win the coveted Golden Bagel award\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
