We're looking for a Senior Front End Engineer who is located in or around the Australian or New Zealand timezones.

About Vero

Vero is a multi-channel messaging platform built for the modern data stack. Modern marketing and product teams all over the world use Vero to automate communications with over 750 million end-users. 

With nearly a decade's experience in this space Vero is undergoing a transformation that is putting it on an exciting new trajectory. We've recently launched a new take on our product: a version that sits directly on top of customers' data platforms like Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake and more. This is a massive shift that gives teams easier access to their data, faster and for less cost. 

Vero is looking for a Senior Front End Engineer to join us on our journey and to help us build the future of messaging automation. 

About the role

We’re looking for skilled and motivated front end engineers to help us break new ground in the messaging and automation space. We are building new and exciting products and features to help solve fundamental problems in the multi-channel messaging space. Your addition to the team will help us move faster and deliver even more innovative messaging experiences to our customers.

As a senior front end developer at Vero you will be working closely with Vero's small but senior product and engineering team, including other senior engineers and UI/UX team members, to shape and implement new features and improvements to Vero's web-based SaaS product. 

Our front-end is built in Ember.js and we are looking for a talented engineer with Ember.js, React or similar experience who can both help execute on our product roadmap and improve the way we structure, test, build and deploy our front-end.

About you

Does this sound like you? 

• You are interested in building for the long-term, have a strong problem-solving ability and the aptitude to consider the big picture when solving engineering challenges.
• You have a passion for building high quality web application experiences.
• You strive for elegant solutions that are as simple and effective as possible.
• You have an interest in and respect for both the latest technologies available on cloud providers, as well as traditional solutions. 
• You have excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborating on ideas.

Must have:

• Strong experience building single page applications and with javascript frameworks such as Ember/Vue/React or similar (4+ years)
• Experience writing unit tests/specs using common JavaScript testing frameworks.
• Ability to work independently when required and collaborate when it makes sense
• A keen interest in forming partnerships with designers to deliver high quality UI/UX

Nice to have:

• Specific experience with Ember.js or Typescript
• BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree.
• Contributions to major open source projects.
• Experience working in remote teams.

As the Senior Engineer, you will have a key position in our Survey Platform Development team.  You will help build a versatile, open-source survey tool for newcomers and professionals. So, they can get the freshest insights - as easy as squeezing a lime. Well, for the latter ‘easy’ part we could really use your help.

This will be your challenge:

• You will help set the standard for LimeSurvey Dev team and guide and motivate others
• You will discuss and implement new features with business side, manage their expectations, and refine, estimate work with the team in line with our product roadmap
• You will help identify and manage technical dept
• You will help onboard new team members while mentoring and guiding others in their career path
• You will closely work together with our product owner and architect
•  You are responsible for the code you write
• You take ownership of your code in line with our LimeSurvey coding guidelines
• You help consult with specific expertise you have on e.g., architecture, design or performance
• Your code will be showcased to the rest of the world, since we’re opensource

This is you:

• You have worked on B2B, SaaS or Dev Tools
• You have solid programming skills and master PHP frameworks, Yii would be great but is always learnable
• You foster relationships with your team and have great communication skills + a getting things done mentality
• You understand testing frameworks and methodologies.
• You understand technologies supporting the LimeSurvey ecosystem
• You are a motivator and get the best out of yourself and automatically people around you
• You are an active contributor to opensource projects (or will be in the future ;-))
• You have a good sense of humour, and you stay calm in stressful situations
