**We are the largest online video editing platform**\n\nBuilding creative tools are super impactful for so many people. From business owners to YouTubers, creators, artists, and more.\n\nHowever, building an online video editor is not easy. This is not just another ecom store, Web App or Saas Project. It will be one of the hardest challenges of your career and a place to do the best work of your life.\n\nThis does not mean we compromise work-life balance. We are a modern company that puts people first. Our team is incredible, super talented, humble and we are 100% remote.\n\n**What will you be doing?**\n\nYou will be primarily be working in ReactJS on the frontend, Node on the API side (and C++ for video rendering if you are up for a challenge), to help us deliver more video / account features to our customers. As a startup we are not extremely overbuilt and have a lot of greenfield space to explore and test new ideas and do research.\n\n**Who are we looking for?**\n\nWe are looking for someone who gets thrilled by the idea of solving deep technical problems, takes pride in their own work and likes to get creative to build innovative things. We know that not everyone fits into boxes and we are all always learning, however here are a few things that we are looking for:\n\n- Someone who is experienced in ReactJS and has a strong knowledge of JS fundamentals. Knowledge of C++ or video related code is a bonus\n- We care about how we write our code. So we are looking for someone who is comfortable going through code reviews, knows or would like to learn about testing their code and make it more performant\n- We donโt care about university degrees, but we would like to see you have a good bit of theoretical knowledge in areas you have worked in and are interested in\n- Have good communication skills and be a team player who is happy to lend a hand if someone gets stuck\n- Someone who can roll up their sleeves and jump on different things. Building a simple online video editor isnโt always so simple, so you might work on WebGL, API, DevOps or Architecture stuff. You don't need to know it all, but someone who is not scared of a challenge\n- Be able to contribute to the culture of engineering excellence by writing better documentation, teaching more junior teammates or improving processes around engineering in general\n- Experience working with video is a bonus\n\n\n \n\nPlease mention the word **EXQUISITELY** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMy4xNDcuODUuODA=). \nAt Bluecode were building the first European mobile payment scheme that enables cashless payments combined with value-added services. It's a solution from and for Europe; accepted at 20000 locations, from large and small department stores and supermarket chains to famous events like Oktoberfest (watch our CEO pitching at NOAH18 for more).\nWe just got additional funding, and we are making a strong push to increase the velocity and confidence at which we can continuously deploy our systems while more and more engineers work on them. A central part of that effort is remote blackbox API and UI testing, to guarantee that our systems continue to support every API flow and UI interaction flawlessly.\nTo that end were looking for a Software Engineer in Test that will help build, maintain, and scale our business critical automated acceptance test suite.\nEngineering @ Bluecode\n * We build new features on top of a modern stack, consisting of web apps (in a mix of Vue, Svelte, and Typescript) and native mobile SDKs communicating through APIs to Elixir services, backed by Postgres, all deployed in docker containers in a continuous delivery cycle to Kubernetes on AWS EKS, orchestrated by Pulumi.\n * You dont need to have experience in any of our specific technologies: were great at teaching good engineers how to use our modern SaaS stack.\n * We don't follow rigid Scrum or Kanban, but we do work in an agile, iterative way, and try to continuously improve and implement what works for us.\n \n\nWhat will you do?\n\n * You will join the automation and tooling team, a small, collaborative team of senior engineers, and be mainly working on the black box testing infrastructure, which we are building out (some prototypes exist, otherwise greenfield). This means theres a lot of opportunity and freedom to influence and help define direction, technology choices, etc. of the test automation infrastructure.\n * Your work will be the guard rails and launch track to allow our software engineers to develop and deploy at ever higher speeds and undertake deep refactorings without fear, because the automated black box tests will catch any changes in externally observable behavior of the system. In short, you will be a key enabler of developer velocity.\n * You will be building stuff like any other software engineering work, this means coding, delivering new features, code reviews, fixing bugs, peer programming and incident response.\n * You will own and be accountable for the different blackbox test suites and any other high-leverage coding/automation/tooling projects you take on.\n * You will collaborate with engineers, product managers and designers to help plan the work ahead, also to ensure that the automated acceptance tests are in place before product/feature launch.\n * You will be learning from and teaching other engineers; sharing your knowledge to enable them to contribute to the black box test suite, reducing knowledge silos in the process. As a senior engineer youre also encouraged to take on mentoring of junior engineers.\n * You will structure initial delivery and extension of the test suites into small, actionable tasks to deliver the most value in no time.\n * You will be involved with the product and engineering teams starting from the design phase to ensure high quality products for our customers and partners, which includes among other things to ensure the system remains very testable. As you will have a deep understanding of the externally visible behavior (or model) of our system, you will also have a voice on whether new features make sense, ie. whether they fit into the model of the existing system or are a departure.\n * Once the black box test automation is on a good track, there are opportunities for you to help with other automation and tooling tasks to support the engineering team (infrastructure automation, load and stress testing, improve tooling to shorten feedback cycle for developers, etc.).\n \n\n\nBenefits\n\nWhy do you want to work at Bluecode?\n * You can help build an amazing product in a company big enough for growth but lean enough to make a genuine impact.\n * The experience of being able to pay in real life with the system you've helped building is priceless.\n * A startup you'd be proud to use, we are putting consumers privacy first.\n * We will provide you with opportunities to develop your career.\n * You will be offered a competitive salary.\n * The work is fully remote and we have flexible working hours (though youre expected to overlap with Europe/Zurich for 5h per day).\n * Your equipment needs get covered by a recurring equipment stipend.\n * You will have a yearly budget for attending conferences.\n \n\n\n\nAt Bluecode, we foster an inclusive, supportive, fun yet challenging team environment. We value having a team that is made up of a diverse set of backgrounds and respect the healthy expression of diverse opinions. We embrace experimentation and the examination of all kinds of ideas through reasoning and testing. Come join us as we continue to change the world of mobile payment.\nIf you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to (paste into a Bourne-compatible shell):\n echo "moc tod edoceulb ta relleum tod d" | rev\nInterested? We'd love to hear from you. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
