Network Optix is hiring a Remote Continuous Integration Engineer
\nWeโre seeking a CI Engineer to play a crucial role in automating and streamlining our development processes. Your expertise will be key in managing and improving Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) systems, focusing on automating builds, tests, and deployments. This role is essential in enhancing our engineering efficiency and maintaining high standards in operational excellence. You'll collaborate with a talented team, contributing to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in our development practices.\n\nMany processes are automated now\n\n\n* CI for our products - run gitlab pipeline with builds and tests for our products;\n\n* Service deployments, required for development (Gitlab, Artifactory, Vault, Grafana, Graylog) into the Kubernetes cluster (Helm, ansible). \n\n* CI environment deployment (setup hosts, VMs and AWS infrastructure), required for build, tests and deploy our products (Ansible).\n\n* CI/CD for internal CI team projects (jenkins jobs, internal web-services)\n\n* GitLab Bots to automate routine user tasks during the merge requests \n\n* infrastructure monitoring and metrics collection (Grafana+telegraf, Graylog).\n\n\n\n\nA lot of work ahead\n\n\n* Develop CI/CD for new products (NX private cloud, NxConnect, NxGo, etc)\n\n* Work on performance and improve our Gitlab pipelines\n\n* Work on CI/CD architecture improvements\n\n* Improve our Jenkins jobs usability\n\n* Work with large and constantly growing JIRA backlog of automation requests\n\n* Work on useful and convenient tools for our engineers, which help to save their time\n\n* Support current CI/CD solution: work on issues and bug fixes\n\n\n\n\nWhat do CI team have at this point\n\n\n* Jenkins Job Builder code base with Bash, Python and Groovy injection\n\n* Gitlab repositories for CI team projects with pre-commit testing and review\n\n* CI infrastructure (bare metal hosts) in the data center with kubernetes clusters installed\n\n* The constant pursuit of high-quality, reliable and understandable code\n\n* Small team with 5 members and a lead, who writes a code too\n\n* Team assistance on any issues\n\n* Opportunities to learn and develop\n\n\n\n\nWhat we're looking for: \n\n\n* Software development skills in any language (Python, C++, Java, etc)\n\n* Understanding the principles of good architecture\n\n* Jenkins job development experience\n\n* Good Git experience\n\n* GitLab pipelines experience\n\n* Linux experience\n\n* General knowledges of computer science (Networks, OS, hardware, etc)\n\n\n\n\nWill be a plus: \n\n\n* Bash experience\n\n* Groovy experience\n\n* Jenkins Job Builder experience\n\n* Windows: Administration, powershell, utils skills\n\n* Experience in DevOps tools (Ansible)\n\n* Kubernetes experience\n\n\n\n\nWhat we offer: \n\n\n* Competitive Compensation\n\n* Paid time off\n\n* Flexible working hours\n\n* Onsite work in our brand-new comfortable office (if appropriate)\n\n* Employer-sponsored health coverage \n\n* Working with top industry experts in our international team\n\n\n\n\nHybrid or Remote Preferences\n\nThe position is ideally a hybrid role and the office is located in Walnut Creek.
