Remote Lead Game UI UX Designer

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new web3 life simulation multiplayer game for PC, set in a fresh and engaging IP. \nAs the Lead Game UI/UX Designer you will be pivotal in shaping the gameplay experience from the players' perspective. You'll work closely with Game Designers, UI Artists, Programmers, and User Research to make sure the player experience is understandable, accessible, and engaging. Youโll guide a team of experienced UI Artists and UX Designers, finding opportunities to shape the game we make and mentor ambitious designers. This position will be responsible for leading a growing team, establishing direction, consistency and helping to establish the gameโs Identity.\nAs part of the leads team you will report to the Game Director and will collaborate with the other department leads to ensure alignment and continuity across teams. As the Lead Game UI/UX Designer you will provide feedback and communicate execution standards to guide the UX vision of the game; allowing the team creative flexibility and support wherever needed. Finding and maintaining the right balance between quality and speed is a top priority, and youโll ensure that our assets are both on time, at quality bar, and performant in engine.\nThis role is anticipated to be a remote work position, with some occasional travel involved.\nAre you up for the challenge?\nJob Description\nIn a dynamic environment like ours, priorities shift frequently. The role encompasses, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:\nResponsibilities\nAs the Lead Game UI/UXย Designer for My Neighbor Alice, you will play a critical role in conceptualizing and implementing the UI & UX for the game. Working directly with the game director you will collaborate with the Art Director and Lead Game Designer to establish and maintain the game's UX design ethos, faithfully executing the game's vision.\n\n* \nEvaluating, communicating, and evolving the overall gameplay vision together with Directors, other Leads, and the rest of the Gameplay team.\n\n* \nTranslating and communicating the Directors' vision into tangible designs and features together with your team.\n\n* \nProviding UX expertise (best practices and solutions) to multiple game features.\n\n* \nDesigning logic, layout, flow, and prototypes of UI menus and elements that support various gameplay features and accessibility principles.\n\n* \nWork with Art Direction to establish direction and create a UI style guide.\n\n* \nEnsuring consistent UI/UX solutions across the game, for a familiar style and ease of use.\n\n* \nDesigning onboarding solutions for new game concepts, mechanics and the web3 environment\n\n* \nManaging the UI/UX team and ensuring the quality of the department's work is at a high level.\n\n* \nFacilitate communication between designers, artists and developers to ensure a holistic user experience\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n* \n8+ years of game development experience.\n\n* \n5+ years of experience as a UX Designer, UI Artist or both, having worked on game projects\n\n* \nExcellent UX design and related technical skill sets (wireframing, prototyping, user & screen flows, mockups, UI design)\n\n* \nHighly Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and/or Figma (or other wireframing software)\n\n* \nSolid understanding of UX design principles, information & product architecture, interface & design thinking, service design, and various research techniques\n\n* \nUnderstanding of psychological concepts that keep players engaged\n\n* \nA strong sense of what makes a gameplay experience compelling and fun\n\n* \nFundamental technical understanding of game engines such as Unity\n\n\n\nKnowledge and Skills\n\n* \nExperience working on larger projects working with various stakeholders and diverse, multidisciplinary game teams\n\n* \nTactful and strong communicator, able to mobilize and inspire\n\n* \nAble to help a team get on board with a direction, but also pitch ideas to leadership\n\n* \nExcellent knowledge/reasoning when it comes to game development and the realities of production, both from technical and conceptual standpoints\n\n* \nCritical with a keen sense of observation, and able to express their ideas clearly \n\n* \nIndependent, rigorous and equipped with excellent organizational skills\n\n* \nPassionate about video games, especially multiplayer or MMO games\n\n* \nBasic knowledge of blockchain and web3 technologies\n\n\n\nExtra Points\n\n* \nPassion and knowledge of Blockchain & Web3\n\n* \nFamiliarity with the web3 game space\n\n* \nFamiliarity with social simulation games like Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley\n\n* \nExperience with Motion Design\n\n* \nExperience working with Game Communities and Marketing teams\n\n* \nExperience or interest in other disciplines (Design, engineering, etc.).\n\n\n\n\n\nWe love hearing from anyone who is enthusiastic about changing the web3 games industry.
