Remote Antibiotic Stewardship Public Health Specialist\nThe CDC Foundation is seeking candidates for a Public Health Specialist with experience working with state health departments and with knowledge of antibiotic stewardship. This position will provide technical assistance to state and local health departments collaborating with Medicaid offices and using Medicaid medical and pharmacy claims data to implement prescribing tracking and feedback interventions leveraging Antibiotic Use (AU) data and quality metrics. This project focuses on supporting public health partners forming and fostering collaboratives to implement antibiotic stewardship interventions, particularly in outpatient settings. The Public Health Specialist will work in collaboration with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) subject matter experts and epidemiologists at CDC, state health department antibiotic stewardship leads, state Medicaid offices, communication specialists, CDC Foundation consultants, and other partners.\n\n\nThis full-time position will be hired by the CDC Foundation and assigned to the Medical Product Safety Branch within the Division of Health Quality and Promotion (DHQP), National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) at the CDC. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with the nationโs leading agency charged with protecting the public's health. The CDC Foundation offers a competitive salary and attractive benefits package. Candidates do not need to relocate to Atlanta; however, travel to CDC/Atlanta will be required at least once or twice per year. The salary for this position ranges from $80,000-$95,000, based on education and experience. This is a grant funded position with funding through December 31, 2025. \n\n\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\n* Engage state Medicaid Offices and provide technical assistance for collaboration leveraging antibiotic use data to identify and implement antibiotic stewardship activities.\n* Establish mechanisms that support connections and communication between state health departments working with Medicaid offices.\n* Develop a toolkit on improving antibiotic use through engagement with Medicaid agencies highlighting data-driven outpatient antibiotic stewardship activities based on successful Medicaid examples, Medicaid data analyses, and quality metrics.\n* Maintain regular communications and ensure coordination between CDC offices, state partners and other relevant stakeholders, including coordination of meetings.\n* Draft scientific abstracts based on Medicaid antibiotic use data analyses and describing collaboration.\n* Conduct monitoring and evaluation to establish targeted outcomes and measure progress.\n* Participate in additional activities and other duties as assigned.\n\n\n\nQualifications and Skills Necessary\n* Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing)\n* A masterโs degree in public health or equivalent degree is required\n* At least five years of public health experience preferred\n* Experience in infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance and antibiotic stewardship required\n* Experience working with state Medicaid programs, specifically AK, OR, MN, TN, CO, SC and NE, preferred\n* Strong project management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills are required\n* Demonstrated ability to work independently at times as well as a member of a team\n* Demonstrated effective diplomatic skills and the ability to work in close, supportive technical collaboration with individuals from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds as well as a range of public health partners and stakeholders, including international governmental and non-governmental organizations\n* Proficient use of relevant computer programs including the MS Office standard suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)\n* Strong descriptive analytic skills and experience with antibiotic use data desired\n\n\n\nAbout the CDC Foundation\n* The CDC Foundation helps CDC save and improve lives by unleashing the power of collaboration between CDC, philanthropies, corporations, organizations and individuals to protect the health, safety and security of America and the world. Remote Regional Technical Advisor\nThe CDC Foundation is seeking a candidate for a full-time Regional Technical Advisor position to support the implementation of projects which aim to monitor the sales and use of e-cigarettes and other tobacco products at the National and State level. The project aims to generate scientifically defensible and rapidly available data to assess the effectiveness of e-cigarette and tobacco flavor restriction policies. The Monitoring E-cigarette Use Among Youth and Young Adults program has been underway since 2019 with program activities that include analyzing retail sales data for e-cigarettes and other tobacco products; and implementing surveys to collect timely estimates of e-cigarette use and related behaviors among youth and young adults.\n\n\nThe Regional Technical Advisor will serve as the focal point for managing relationships across governmental and nongovernmental organizations within their respective region, lead state and regional data analysis and interpretation and identify opportunities for data to action in states based on collaborative contextualization of the data. Strong communication and teamwork skills are of absolute importance to succeed in this role.\n\n\nThis position is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement for U.S. based candidates. Experience with retail sales data or other types of raw data strongly preferred.\n* At least two years of experience working with regional collaboratives, state governmental and/or nongovernmental organizations.\n* Experience or understanding of tobacco control and cessation efforts.\n* Strong data management and analysis skills, including experience applying statistical techniques to nontraditional types of data. Remote Program Officer\nThe Program Officer (PO) for Non-Infectious Disease Programs implements output-driven public health projects and/or moderately complex programs โ comprised of multiple, temporary, unique and related projects. Remote Epidemiologist\nThe CDC Foundation is working with CDC and state and local authorities to provide surge staff to support surveillance, prevention and response activities within the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) program. Under this cooperative agreement, CDC Foundation will hire and place epidemiologists in OD2A jurisdictions who demonstrate a need for epidemiology support to implement OD2A objectives. The ORS is funded by CDC and the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) to help communities reduce fatal and non-fatal drug overdose rates by improved information sharing across public health and public safety agencies, and by supporting evidence-based intervention.\nAs of July 2021, there are ORS Public Health Analyst (PHA) and Drug Intelligence Officer (DIO) positions in 50 states, the District of Columbia (D.C.)., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. PHA positions are funded by CDC through the CDC Foundation and DIO positions are funded by ONDCP through the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program. These state teams form the foundation of the ORS and work to promote overdose prevention and response efforts, and increase communication, data flow, and intelligence sharing between public safety and public health within and across ORS states.\n\n\nThe CDC Foundation seeks candidates for a full time Public Health Analyst to support the ORS. This position will support efforts of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, North Central HIDTA, and other key partners in the development and implementation of drug overdose information sharing systems and evidence-based prevention programs.\n\n\nThe Public Health Analyst must be based near Wisconsin. The PHA will work a remote schedule with frequent visits to the North Central HIDTA office located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services office located in Madison, Wisconsin. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and Arizona Department of Health Services, in order to best support the State of Arizona in their public health programming.\n\n\nThis position is currently a Remote position.
