Helping our users get the most out of Roboflow is essential to their success.\nWeโre hiring our second Sales Engineer to partner closely with our sales team and drive new customer wins. Youโll have an immense impact on shaping the future of not only this role, but our company.\nA large portion of the Roboflow sales process is technical, ensuring customers understand how to incorporate computer vision into their products. You will work with sales on delivering demos, building proofs of concepts and prototypes with prospects, and in answering technical questions, assisting in closing deals. You will use your knowledge gathered through sales motions and work with our Customer Success team to determine ways to best drive adoption and successful implementations of computer vision within their products.\nYou will also contribute to the post-sales process (Customer Engineering) in an engineering capacity to ensure our customers are successful throughout their journey with Roboflow. We donโt just stop at signature and onboarding. We want our customers to be life long partners with Roboflow and ensure they are receiving the ROI they envisioned when they first signed on.ย \nIf you think, โIโm an engineer that loves sharing my work with others,โ youโd be in great company in this role.\n\nWho you'll work with\n\nAs an early first Machine Learning Solutions engineer hire, youโll be partnering directly with our co-founder/CEO, Sales leadership and Customer Success leadership to not only do great work in the role, but shape how this function works for the future of Roboflow.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

Weโre looking for someone who loves interacting with users, is excited to dive into the existing community head first, and has ideas to engage the community with new ideas going forward.\n\nPrevious experience building community at a developer tooling company is a huge plus. Technical skills are not required but would be valuable in helping to get in the headspace of our audience.\n\nWhat Youโll Do\nThis role is part content marketing, part evangelist, part social media, and part business development. Your long-term objectives will be helping us get computer vision on the radar of every developer, and ensuring that whenever people think โcomputer visionโ, they think โRoboflowโ.\n\nWe have a solid foundation to build on. There are already over 60,000 users of our platform that we can use to seed the community. About the Role\n\nRoboflow is hiring our third full-time engineer on the machine learning team to contribute to the core machine learning tools and infrastructure that underpin the Roboflow platform. This role will inevitably involve wearing a lot of hats. Wide-ranging curiosity and enthusiasm for diving into abstract problems, coming up with good solutions, and seeing them through to completion are essential responsibilities.\n\nOur core belief is that computer vision is a foundational technology that is going to transform nearly every industry. This is an opportunity to shape how millions of developers will experience and use it for the first time. Your contribution will have a massive impact.\n\nWe anticipate the role being focused 60% on backend, 20% on machine learning, and 20% on other areas. You certainly don't need to be an expert in all of these areas; but should be excited to learn new skill sets as you need them. We also hope you'll bring some new knowledge and experiences you can share to help level-up the rest of the team. The above tools span code in our machine learning stack to date - your opinions on new technologies that we adapt for new tasks will be highly valued.\n\nWhat We Need From You\n\nOn the machine learning team, we primarily work on building and maintaining technology within Roboflowโs training, search and deployment services, but from time to time we're also helping deliver on enterprise contracts, and coding awesome open source projects and sample projects.\n\nIn the beginning, you will be tackling projects in close collaboration with your fellow machine learning and product team members. As you progress in your knowledge of Roboflowโs mission and tools, you will have a wide degree of freedom to advocate for and drive your own projects. If you need a rigid list of tasks spelled out in a multi-month roadmap, this role probably won't be a good fit.\n\nWeโre especially keen to add some rigor to our processes and build the foundation for scaling the engineering organization and the machine learning team.\n\nTechnology\n\nOur goal is to build the world's best computer vision infrastructure so our users don't have to. This means we handle a lot of challenging complexities like seamlessly ingesting dozens of data formats, processing millions of images per day, and deploying auto-scaling machine learning infrastructure that can handle our customers' most demanding training and deployment needs.\n\nOur core app sits atop Firebase with assistance from auto-scaling groups of Docker containers (for jobs like archiving datasets and training models). We also heavily lean on serverless infrastructure so we can gracefully deal with bursty traffic involved in manipulating datasets that can range anywhere from one hundred to one million images.\n\nOur machine learning infrastructure runs in AWS, with a few deployments spanning into GCP. We train and deploy various state of the art models in a variety of machine learning frameworks. All of our machine learning applications are closely integrated with the core Roboflow web application.\n\nWe also maintain a library of Colab notebooks our customers can use to train common computer vision models, a directory of public datasets, and a web of format specifications. We see building and supporting mini-projects like these that are helpful to the community at large as part of our role in democratizing computer vision.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

Roboflow is rapidly expanding our engineering team to address the groundswell of user and customer needs. Over 100,000 developers (spanning from students to individual hackers & hobbyists to startups to employees of some of the worldโs biggest companies) have now used Roboflow to build computer vision projects. Soon, every developer will have computer vision as a tool in their toolbox. Roboflow will be for computer vision what Microsoft was for the PC and Google was for the Internet.\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nWeโre looking for strong technical generalists to contribute to our core product and help us build the foundation for our rapidly expanding company.\n\nAs an integral part of our early team, this role will inevitably involve wearing a lot of hats. Wide-ranging curiosity and enthusiasm for diving into abstract problems, coming up with good solutions, and seeing them through to completion is essential.\n\nOur core belief is that computer vision is a foundational technology that is going to transform nearly every industry. This is an opportunity to shape how millions of developers will experience and use it for the first time. Your contribution will have a massive impact.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou'll be tasked with a wide range of projects. Each engineer has a realm they focus on, but we're still small enough that we don't have the luxury of deep specialization. We're looking for technical generalists that arenโt afraid to dive into a new stack or toolchain if the need arises (but JavaScript and Node.js make up the brunt of the existing codebase).\nMost of the things we work on are parts of the core product (which is an end-to-end pipeline for building computer vision projects spanning from image ingestion to annotation to training and deployment) but from time to time we're also working on things like integrating marketing and sales tools, fighting fires, automating internal processes, and open source projects.\n\nYou'll have a wide degree of freedom to advocate for which projects you think should be highest priority and will contribute to our strategy decisions. If you need a rigid list of tasks spelled out in a multi-month roadmap, this role probably won't be a good fit.\n\nThe majority of our codebase is written in JavaScript, our machine learning and image processing pipeline is in Python. We run primarily on Firebase and GCS, with some machine learning infrastructure on AWS. We're increasingly using Docker (both internally and for customer facing products like our edge inference server). A lot of our code runs in the browser (including some Tensorflow JS) but we're also working on building APIs and client libraries in several languages.\nYou certainly don't need to be experienced in all of these areas; but should be excited to learn new skill sets as you need them. We also hope you'll bring some new knowledge and experiences you can share to help level-up the rest of the team.\n\nWeโre especially keen to add some rigor to our processes and build the foundation for rapidly scaling the engineering organization (for example: we currently have limited tests and are not using an opinionated front-end framework -- things that will need to change over the coming months in order to be able to seamlessly expand the team).\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
