\nThe role:\n\nAs the Manager of the Galileo Cards and Messaging team, you will be responsible for leading a team to ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security of the Galileo messaging platform and leading initiatives to improve overall capabilities in a highly distributed and dynamic environment. \n\nThe role requires an experienced engineering leader with excellent cross-functional and communication skills as well as backgrounds in operations, software development, systems performance, and resilience engineering. Always focusing on the quality experience of our customers.\n\n What youโll do: \n\n\n* Own the vision of the future Galileo Cards and Messaging platform\n\n* Lead by example, care for the team, and establish credibility with the quality of the teamโs technical execution\n\n* Lead the development, delivery, and operation of the Messaging service\n\n* Proactively ensure the highest levels of system availability\n\n* Nurture a culture of continuous improvement and blameless retrospection within the organization\n\n* Grow and mentor a team of engineers, building their talents by exposing them to new challenges and experiences\n\n* Participate in deep technical design discussions within the team, and across partner teams to ensure that we're building the right systems and keeping the quality high\n\n* Track project performance against defined milestones/goals.\n\n* Conduct process improvement projects to increase performance in vital program metrics.\n\n* Communicate ongoing project health with key stakeholders and business leadership\n\n\n\n\nWhat youโll need:\n\n\n* BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject \n\n* 8+ years of experience with software development\n\n* 3+ years of experience managing a team of engineers (can overlap with programming experience)\n\n* Consistent track record of performance management and career development of individual contributors\n\n* Ability to engage in technical and business discussions from both tactical and strategic viewpoints\n\n* Experience with operating in Cloud and distributed systems\n\n* Experience with Continuous Delivery principles and techniques\n\n* Experience with DevOps and full ownership of services from development to production\n\n* Ability to balance delivering on business objectives while also protecting the long term quality of platform\n\n* Experience leading cross-organizational efforts with different teams to ensure successful delivery of projects\n\n\n\n\nNice to have:\n\n\n* Expertise in building and deploying software using cloud services and AWS platforms including VPCs, ECS/EKS, etc.\n\n* Experience working in highly regulated environments such as FinTech\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
