Why This Role Exists:

The Upside team is looking for Senior and Lead DevOps engineers to work on our ground breaking Upside blockchain and DAO infrastructure. This includes the development of DAOs, NFTs, tokens, and wallet infrastructure across many blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Polygon and Algorand. 

Location: 100% Remote (For US Residents)

Comp:  $150K - $175K

Candidate Requirements - Regions: Available only to U.S. residents, but it is 100% remote.

Candidate Requirements - Interviews: The interview process for this role requires video-meetings with the camera on. We must ensure the identity of who we potentially will be working with.

Skills + Requirements:

• You have 3+ years of DevOps/SRE experience
• You have experience maintaining production applications written on Ruby on Rails & Node.js
• You have experience managing blockchain nodes (e.g. Ethereum) and integrating with node hosting services (e.g. Infura, Figment, Purestake and Alchemy)
• You have experience with logging and monitoring tools
• You have experience with CloudFlare
• You have experience administering AWS and Heroku Applications
• You have prior experience with CI/CD and related tools (e.g. GitHub actions)
• You have a strong grasp of deployment automation and configuration management
• You are skilled at clearly articulating designs while being receptive to constructive criticism
• You have excitement about the possibilities of crypto and blockchains

Responsibilities:

• Manage server infrastructure on Heroku, AWS and other cloud infrastructure
• Manage the deployment of smart contracts, Ruby on Rails and Node.js services, and network node connectivity for Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Avalanche and other blockchains.
• Develop monitoring and alerting systems
• Improve service reliability

• You will manage server infrastructure on Heroku, AWS and other cloud infrastructure

• You will develop monitoring and alerting systems
• You will improve service reliability

In the first 90-days:

• You will have put a comprehensive triage program in place as well as system processes in place
• You will have optimized all of our services as made required or recommended upgrades

Why This Role Exists

We are looking for experienced Senior Solidity Smart Contract developers to help work on our open source smart contract protocol.  This includes the development of DAOs, NFTs, tokens, and wallet infrastructure across many blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Polygon and Algorand.

The right developer will have extensive Solidity Smart Contract coding experience, the ability to self-manage and prioritize, clear and consistent communication skills, and a desire to write production level smart contracts that people will use at scale.

This role requires someone special: an expert developer that consistently ships high quality code, with the ability to maintain a strategic perspective on the why of our features, not just the what.

Candidate Requirements - Regions: Currently, we are not able to hire individuals that reside in Russia, China, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Syria, Sudan, and the Crimean region of Ukraine. You will be required to prove your current residency location to ensure we as a company stay within the legal confines of US law.

Skills + Requirements:

• Solid, proven experience with Ethereum solidity
• Javascript blockchain libraries such as Ethers.js, Web3.js, Hardhat and Truffle
• Background in automated testing with Javascript
• Working knowledge of Ethereum Standards such as ERC20 and ERC721
• Working with security auditors to address vulnerabilities
