\n\nBase Salary: $156K - $204K\n\nEquity: 0.05% to 0.2%\n\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nWe are looking for a Tech Lead/Manager to lead a small team (4 to 5 people) of experienced engineers. TLM at Kalepa is a blend of hands-on software engineering and leadership. The candidate needs to be able to dive deep into problems, effectively delegate responsibilities, grow and develop talented engineers, and cultivate a results-driven, high-performance culture.\n\n\n\nAreas of responsibility:\n\n\n* Technical: coding, conducting code reviews, and discussing architectural designs\n\n* Operations: triaging issues, investigating timeouts, and ensuring the stability of the system\n\n* Performance: improving latency of SQL queries and API endpoints\n\n* Cost: optimizing usage of cloud and other service providers to keep expenditures under control\n\n* Management: growing the team, delegating, ensuring important items are being delivered on time\n\n* Integrations: building and designing integrations with external systems\n\n\n\n\nNote: This is a hands-on position, and you will be required to spend around 50% of your time coding.\nAbout You:\n\n\n* You bring 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience, with at least 1 year dedicated to full-time engineering team management.\n\n* You have a proven track record in managing complex, cross-functional projects across multiple teams.\n\n* You're skilled at hiring talented engineers at various levels and building high-performing teams.\n\n* You can make strategic trade-offs to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced, scaling environment.\n\n* Your expertise includes strong development and system design skills, with experience in Python, React, and AWS as a plus.\n\n* You're adept at optimizing APIs and SQL queries for performance.\n\n* You're familiar with monitoring tools such as DataDog, Sentry, or similar services.\n\n* You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.\n\n\n\nWhat You’ll Get:\n\n\n* Very competitive salary (based on experience level)\n\n* Significant equity options package.\n\n* Work with an ambitious, smart, global, and fun team to transform a $1T global industry.\n\n* 20 days of PTO a year.\n\n* Global team offsites.\n\n* Kalepa covers luxmed private health insurance for individuals and families.\n\n* Healthy living/gym stipend.
