\nJob Title: Senior Backend Engineer (.NET / AI Systems)r\nPosition Type: Full-Time, Remote\nWorking Hours: U.S. Business Hours\n\nAbout the Role\nWe are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer (.NET / AI Systems) to own the entire technical function of an early-stage SaaS platform. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will write production code daily while making architecture, infrastructure, and AI system decisions for a platform operating at scale.\nYou will be accountable for backend architecture, system reliability, AI pipelines, and guiding a small development team in a fast-moving startup environment.\n\nResponsibilities\nBackend Architecture & Engineering\n* Design, build, and maintain a .NET 8.0 / C# backend using Clean Architecture and DDD principles \n* Own the architecture and codebase across 14+ independently deployed microservices \n* Deliver new features, refactor existing systems, and resolve performance bottlenecks \n\n\nAI Systems & LLM Orchestration\n* Design and operate production-grade AI pipelines across multiple LLM providers \n* Optimize prompts and workflows for batch processing, personalization, and segmentation at scale \n* Manage rate limits, failover strategies, and cost optimization across AI providers \n\n\nDatabases & Data Infrastructure\n* Manage MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB in production environments \n* Oversee bulk writes, caching strategies, event streams, and analytics pipelines \n* Ensure data consistency and performance across distributed services \n\n\nInfrastructure, Reliability & Monitoring\n* Own Linux-based infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and service deployments \n* Implement centralized logging, monitoring, alerting, and uptime tracking \n* Proactively identify and mitigate reliability and scalability risks \n\n\nAPI Integrations & System Resilience\n* Manage 25+ third-party API integrations used in production \n* Design retry, fallback, and graceful degradation strategies \n* Ensure system stability when external providers fail or degrade \n\n\nTeam Leadership & Engineering Standards\n* Lead and mentor a small engineering team through code reviews and architectural guidance \n* Set and enforce engineering standards, workflows, and best practices \n* Collaborate closely with the founder on product direction and technical strategy \n\n\n\nWhat Makes You a Perfect Fit\n* You are a senior, hands-on engineer who enjoys owning systems end-to-end \n* You are comfortable being the most experienced technical person on the team \n* You balance fast execution with long-term architectural thinking \n* You take ownership of reliability, performance, and technical outcomes \n* You thrive in early-stage startup environments \n\n\n\nRequired Experience & Skills\n* Deep expertise in .NET 8.0, C#, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework Core \n* Experience with distributed systems and independently deployed services \n* Strong production experience with MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB \n* Hands-on DevOps experience with Linux servers and CI/CD pipelines \n* Experience managing large numbers of third-party API integrations \n* Proven experience building and operating AI/LLM systems at scale \n* Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and workflows \n* Strong understanding of monitoring, observability, and incident prevention \n* Experience leading small engineering teams \n* Strong English communication skills \n\n\n\nWhat Does a Typical Day Look Like ?\n* Write and review production backend code \n* Make architectural decisions across services, databases, and AI pipelines \n* Monitor system health and resolve reliability issues \n* Guide developers through code reviews and technical feedback \n* Collaborate with the founder on product and system evolution \n\n\nIn short: You own the technical foundation of the platform and ensure it scales reliably while enabling rapid product development.\n\nKey Metrics for Success (KPIs)\n* System uptime and service reliability \n* Backend and AI system performance improvements \n* AI cost efficiency and pipeline stability \n* Code quality and deployment reliability \n* Team execution and delivery quality \n\n\n\nInterview Process\n* Initial Screening Call \n* Technical Interview with Pavago Recruiter \n* Client Interview \n* Offer & Onboarding\n\n\n\n\n\n
