As an AI Tutor - Legal Specialist, you will be responsible for generating consistently high-quality and accurately labeled data through various methods to facilitate the training of NLP algorithms. In collaboration with our technical and legal team you will support the training of new AI tasks and creation of datasets for model training, ensuring the implementation of innovative initiatives. You’ll contribute to refining annotation tools and selecting complex problems from legal disciplines where your expertise can drive significant improvements in model performance. This position demands a dynamic approach to learning and adapting in a fast-paced environment, where your ability to interpret and execute tasks based on evolving instructions is crucial.\n\nThe AI Tutor - Legal Specialist role is a remote position and there are full-time and part-time positions available (please see the bottom of this job description for more details).\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Curate legal information using expert judgment and proprietary software applications to provide input/labels on defined projects.\n\n* Support and ensure the delivery of high-quality curated data.\n\n* Play a pivotal role in supporting and contributing to the training of new tasks, working closely with the technical staff  to ensure the successful development and implementation of cutting-edge initiatives/technologies.\n\n* Interact with the technical staff to help improve the design of efficient annotation tools.\n\n* Choose problems from legal fields that align with your expertise, focusing on areas such as torts and intellectual property.\n\n* Engage in diverse writing assignments to refine generative AI models.\n\n* Interpret, analyze, and execute tasks based on given instructions.\n\n\n\nKey Qualifications:\n\n\n* Possess a LLM, JD, or PhD in a law-related field.\n\n* Advanced proficiency in reading and writing, both in informal and professional English.\n\n* Strong research and analysis skills, and the ability to navigate various information resources, databases, and online resources are essential.\n\n* Outstanding communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational capabilities.\n\n* Strong reading comprehension skills combined with capacity to exercise autonomous judgment even when presented with limited data/material.\n\n* Strong passion for and commitment to technological advancements and innovation. \n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\n* Licensed to practice law in a US jurisdiction.\n\n* Previous AI Tutoring experience.\n\n* Teaching experience (as a professor, teacher, or tutor).\n\n* Experience in technical writing, journalism, or a professional writing setting.\n\n\n\nAdditional Requirements:\n\n\n* Demonstrate a strong capacity to quickly adapt by learning new skills and unlearning outdated ones, thriving in dynamic and changing environments.\n\n* For those who will be working from a personal device, please note your computer must be capable of running Windows 10 or macOS BigSur 11.0 or later.\n\n\n\nLocation, Hourly, and Other Expectations:\n\n\n* This position is fully remote.\n\n* We are unable to provide visa sponsorship.\n\n* If you are based in the US, please note we are unable to hire in the states of Wyoming and Illinois at this time.\n\n* Please indicate your interest in either full-time (40 hours per week), part-time (up to 29 hours per week), or either in the application.
