\nPOSITION WILL SIT REMOTELY IN CANADA\n\nBASE SALARY: $170,000 CAD - $230,000 CAD\n\nPosition Overview \n\nWe are looking for a highly skilled Back End Tech Lead to provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, secure, and highly available back-end systems while driving performance and collaboration across the team. You will work closely with architects and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals, resolve technical challenges, and mentor engineers to foster growth. This is a hands-on role where you will oversee system architecture, client-facing demos, and the overall delivery of robust cloud-native solutions.\n\nJob Duties\n\n\n* Provide the team with technical leadership over their particular function (backend, front end, QA, or data), and establish the guidelines and principles for building processes\n\n* Work closely with the architect to holistically examine the organization’s engineering operations and objectives \n\n* Identify and resolve technical issues and provide innovative ideas while driving performance and collaboration.\n\n* Own the delivery of highly-available systems with quality, resiliency, security, latency, and developer productivity a key focus of each service built or maintained.\n\n* Provide mentorship and technical oversight of engineering talent\n\n* Lead client meetings and demos, demonstrating project progress or gathering technical requirements.\n\n* Review solution designs to determine their technical viability and relevance to the business goals\n\n* Support other team members’ growth by organizing knowledge transfer sessions and internal lunch & learn events.\n\n* Perform other duties as assigned\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n\n* 8+ years of experience web application development\n\n* 2+ years experience as a technical lead of a development team\n\n* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or combination of education and experience \n\n* Experience in building cloud native solutions (preferably on AWS)\n\n* Proficiency in GO\n\n* Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns\n\n* Strong foundation in event-driven architectures\n\n* Proven ability to create and maintain highly available, scalable, secure, and observable services\n\n* Hands-on experience designing and creating Event schemas and services\n\n* Skilled in designing/building RESTful APIs\n\n* Ability to write clean, well-designed, and high-quality code in a highly collaborative Agile development environment\n\n* Experience in a peak performance organization, preferably a tech startup\n\n* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills\n\n* Ability to work cross culturally on a global team\n\n* Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer\n\n* Ability to perform at a high-level in a remote work environment\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
