You will be joining Via at a time of rapid growth, impacting hundreds of thousands of riders weekly, many of whom represent special needs populations, students, caregivers, and more.\n\nWhat You'll Do:\n\n\n* Implement microservices from design to production\n\n* Own development, maintenance, testing strategy, design discussions, and operations\n\n* Participate in all aspects of agile software development including: designing, hands-on coding, implementing, debugging, deployment, and troubleshooting\n\n* Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of new product features and components\n\n* Drive technical initiatives and establish best practices for software development, including coding standards, design patterns, and testing strategies, to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable code\n\n* Define and implement coding standards, development processes, and quality assurance practices to ensure the delivery of clean, maintainable code\n\n* Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design\n\n* Research and explore new technologies and methodologies to drive continuous improvement and evolution of our tech stack to boost Via’s solutions\n\n* Have an impact on product development by making important technical decisions, influencing the system architecture, development practices and more\n\n* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical dependencies, mitigate risks, and ensure successful project delivery \n\n* Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team and across Via\n\n\n\n\nWho You Are:\n\n\n* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience\n\n* Minimum of 6 years of experience in backend software, with a proven track record of designing and building scalable, high-performance systems\n\n* Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Python, Java, C++, or C#\n\n* Solid programming foundations: data-structures, multi-threading, OOP and design patterns\n\n* Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with related tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Github actions\n\n* Strong knowledge of database technologies (SQL/MySQL)\n\n* Experienced with low-level performance optimizations, including profiling and memory analysis\n\n* Expertise with cloud platforms: AWS, Serverless, Kubernetes\n\n* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders\n\n* Ability to drive work forward independently in a cross-functional, geographically distributed team environment\n\n\n\n\nCompensation and Benefits:\n\n\nFinal salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills.
