\nTHE ROLE\n\nReporting to the Head, Corporate Accounting, this position provides in-depth technical accounting support to the organization and is pivotal in the preparation, review, and filing of public documents and correspondence with the SEC. This role is instrumental in leading the Company’s compliance efforts related to Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and acts as a key technical accounting resource for the finance department. The ideal candidate will be a certified public accountant with a blend of Big 4 public accounting experience and expertise from the corporate accounting department of a publicly traded life sciences organization.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\n* Oversee the entire process for SEC filings, including but not limited to 10-Ks, 10-Qs, Proxy Statements, and 8-Ks\n\n* Spearhead technical accounting research and assessments in areas such as revenue recognition, business development activities, and other significant non-routine transactions\n\n* Support the internal SOX and external audit requirements, coordinating where possible to maximize efficiency and effectiveness\n\n* Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate accounting treatment of contracts, and prepare comprehensive memos and analyses to support conclusions and facilitate implementation of solutions\n\n* Monitor, interpret and implement new accounting standards\n\n* Prepare and review both financial and non-financial information for dissemination to investors and other stakeholders, including quarterly earnings releases\n\n* Manage stock compensation and equity accounting, including the development of assumptions and review of expense calculations\n\n* Assist in the preparation and review of non-recurring and complex journal entries, ensuring the accurate reflection of unique transactions and events\n\n* Offer accounting support for special projects and ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required\n\n\n\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\n\n* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business\n\n* 8+ years of combined public accounting and public biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry accounting experience\n\n* CPA\n\n\n\n\nPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS\n\n\n* Big 4 public accounting firm experience\n\n* Experience in the corporate accounting department of a publicly traded life sciences company\n\n* Experience with financial reporting software such as ActiveDisclosure\n\n* Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred\n\n* A strong grasp of US GAAP, SOX, and SEC reporting requirements\n\n* Strong technical accounting skills, including the ability to independently research and interpret accounting literature\n\n* Strong attention to detail, decision-making, time management and organizational skills\n\n* Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills\n\n\n\n\nLOCATION\n\n\n* This is a remote friendly role, but you must reside and work within the United States, and in a state where Amylyx currently does business, to be considered \n\n* You will be expected to travel to our corporate location in Cambridge, MA several times a year and attend other company-related events as necessary and requested\n\n* You must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at your remote location\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
