Remote Backend Developer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.\n* Investigating problem areas and following the software development lifecycle.\n* Designing, developing, and testing server-side logic by developing high-quality, reusable, and scalable code using Java Spring Boot and other advanced backend technologies.\n* Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.\n* Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code.\n* Improve and optimize the performance of existing components and systems.\n* Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment.\n* Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues by constantly looking for ways to improve the software by identifying bottlenecks and bugs, and devising solutions to these problems.\n* Lead and collaborate with agile cross-functional teams by collaborating with product management, UX designers, and frontend developers to define and implement innovative backend solutions.\n* Code reviews and mentorship by conducting peer code reviews, providing mentorship, and sharing knowledge with team members to maintain high code quality standards.\n* Understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements by working closely with project managers and other stakeholders.\n* Implement automated testing and unit tests by working closely with the QA team to build and maintain automated tests.\n* Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.\n* Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.\n\nQualifications:* Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n* Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Backend Developer, including 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java.\n* Project Management: Experience with agile project management and workflow tools such as Jira, Asana, Trello, or similar.\n* Version Control: Proficiency in using Git or other version control systems.\n\nCompetencies:* Technical Skills:* Proficient in Java, Java Spring Boot, and other relevant backend technologies.\n* Experience with database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases.\n* Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.\n* Knowledge of user authentication and authorization mechanisms.\n* Experience with cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.\n* Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.\n* Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools.\n* Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.\n* A knack for benchmarking and optimization.\n\n\n* Software Design: Demonstrated proficiency in software design principles and patterns. The ability to design efficient and reusable backend systems that drive complex web applications.\n* Software Testing: Proficiency in various types of software testing methodologies, including unit testing, functional testing, integration testing, and regression testing. Familiarity with testing frameworks.\n* Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues.\n* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n* Teamwork and Leadership: Proven ability to lead and work as part of a team. Ability to mentor and guide junior developers.\n* Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with a passion for delivering high-quality user experiences.\n* Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and time effectively.\n* Adaptability: The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and programming tools.
