Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) are responsible for keeping all internal-facing services and platforms running smoothly. In a nutshell, SREs ensure uptime. SRE teams blend sensible system administrators and software engineers who apply sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to the environments and infrastructure services they provide. \n\nAs a Site Reliability Manager on a Data Platforms team at Braze, you will collaborate with engineering teams to continuously improve the infrastructure, automation, and tooling to build internal data store products. Your leadership and experience will guide your team in improving automation and infrastructure reliability. Your decisions will empower Brazeโs other engineering teams to leverage the data products and platforms you manage.\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\n\n* Partner with Brazeโs engineering teams on architecting products to effectively utilize infrastructure platforms in a scalable, reliable manner\n\n* Ensure that Braze can meet our strict enterprise-grade SLAs with customers by building products that can beat those SLAs\n\n* Participate in an on-call rotation to command incidents within your product scope and provide support for other engineers\n\n* Manage projects via our standard project management process\n\n* Work on small technical changes/improvements outside the blocking path\n\n* Foster an environment where team members thrive, and the team executes well\n\n\n\n\nWHO YOU ARE\n\n\n* 5-7+ years of DevOps/SRE Management (or related experience with an increasing set of responsibilities)\n\n* Proven ability in people management, strategic planning, cost optimization, and management of multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and overlapping resources\n\n* History of growing and mentoring team members with a wide range of experience levels\n\n* Demonstrated success in ensuring risk and change management, observability, and maintaining service level objectives\n\n* Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship-building skills, and the ability to achieve results across reporting chains\n\n* High level of ownership and accountability for high-quality work and documentation, both personally and at a team level\n\n* Comfortable with resource allocation and Strong technical background with MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, Postgres, or similar data technologies\n\n\n\n\nFor candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $200,000 and $275,000/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $225,000 and $300,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
