Remote Purview Consultant

Join a design services company at the forefront of global technology and innovation where the products you help build are used around the world.Your next chapter starts here. \nYour responsibilities include:\n• Lead assessments, roadmaps, and reference architectures for M365 + data estate (on-prem/Azure/multi-cloud).\n• Define controls, scope, and success metrics (PIPEDA/GDPR/SOC 2).\n• Drive deployment plans, change management, and training.\n• Design labels/policies, auto-labeling, and encryption.\n• Integrate across M365 and supported third-party repos.\n• Configure DLP for M365, Endpoint, and Cloud Apps (Defender), incl. EDM/custom classifiers & exceptions.\n• Implement retention labels/policies, record declaration, disposition, proof of deletion.\n• Map retention to legal/regulatory requirements; enable defensible deletion.\n• Stand up eDiscovery (Std/Premium): collections, holds, review sets, analytics, exports.\n• Enable Advanced Audit, audit retention, and privileged access separation.\n• Deploy scanners/connectors (Azure, on-prem, multi-cloud) to classify & catalog.\n• Create runbooks/SOPs/KPIs; enforce RBAC/least privilege.\n• Automate with PowerShell/Graph; integrate with Defender, Entra ID, and ticketing.\n\n• Must be a US Citizen\n• Must be eligible for Security Clearance\n• 5–8+ years in security/compliance/data governance; 3+ years focused on Microsoft Purview across multiple feature areas\n• Proven experience implementing Microsoft Purview in a large enterprise environment\n• Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and metadata management principles\n• Experience with data classification, sensitivity labeling, and policy enforcement\n• Proficiency in configuring Purview assets, scanning rules, and managing collections and glossaries\n• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field\nDesired skills:\n• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders\n• Strong project management and documentation skills\n• Microsoft certifications in Azure Data or Security are a plus\n• Scripting/automation: PowerShell, KQL familiarity for audit/investigation, experience with Graph API or Purview/Atlas APIs is a plus\nHigh Tech Genesis Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building inclusive teams where diverse perspectives drive innovation.\nWe support an accessible recruitment process and are happy to provide accommodation upon request.\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the USA, and resumes should be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
