\nAbout the Role\n\nLocation: Remote, United States\n\nDuration: Contractor, September 2nd - November 23rd, 2024\n\nReports To: Program Manager \n\nCompensation: $75-$100 per hour (Candidate hourly rate is dependent on experience and new staff rarely start at the top of the range) \n\nLead instructors are responsible for providing in-class instruction and are the โfaceโ of CodePathโs virtual classes taught to university students across the nation. Lead instructors plan for engaging lessons using CodePath curriculum, work with co-instructors and teaching assistants to coordinate in class activities and support, and ensure the course is meeting program KPIs while integrating student feedback throughout the program.\n\n\nInstructors are paid for 2 hours of preparation time for each Unit taught\n\nInstructors are paid for pre-course onboarding and training activities\n\n\n\n\nClass Syllabi:\n\n\nCybersecurity 101 \n\nCybersecurity 102\n\n\n\n\nTo be successful in this role, you will be a technical leader in the field of Cybersecurity, with at least 1 year of professional experience employed in a Cybersecurity role.\n\nYou are a dynamic, inspiring technical expert with a desire to create inclusive educational spaces and a passion for empowering students, particularly those who identify with underrepresented groups in tech. You have some experience as an educator and/or trainer who is interested in contributing to best-in-class academic programs for underestimated student populations.\n\n \n\nKey Activities\n\n\n\n\nLead teach the lecture portion of online class sessions of approximately 300 college students\n\n\n\n\nPlan for lessons to be highly engaging and industry relevant, with CodePath provided curriculum\n\n\n\n\nWork with the Program Manager to oversee the course and work with other co- instructors as needed\n\n\n\n\nParticipate in syncs with instructors and teaching assistants leading up to the start of the course, as an onboarding and to make sure instructors feel well prepared to run effective sessions during the program\n\n\n\n\nParticipate in check-ins with instructors during the course, shadowing some of the other instructorโs sessions, and providing instructors feedback\n\n\n\n\nUse course feedback to implement course improvements and propose curriculum changes that ensure KPIs are met\n\n\n\n\n\n \nInterview Plan\n\n\n\n\n\nPreliminary Phone Screen with the Recruiting Team \n\n\n\n\nPhone Screen with Instructional Program Manager\n\n\n\n\nTechnical Task Assessment\n\n\n\n\nTeach Back Lesson Prep & Interview\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nQualifications\n\n\n\n\nComputer science (or related field) degree, or comparable experience working in/learning Cybersecurity\n\n\n\n\n1+ year of professional experience employed in a Cybersecurity role\n\n\n\n\nComfortable with Linux, Bash shell commands, package installation, and using SSH to access a remote machine\n\n\n\n\nSecurity+ or similar preferred, as pathway requires general knowledge of a variety of Cybersecurity concepts\n\n\n\n\nA passion for training the next generation of developers and some experience teaching in an educational, volunteer or work setting, for online learning environments\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* This is a seasonal, part-time (up to 10 hour/week) position. Candidates will be paid a competitive hourly rate for part time training and program instruction. Our hourly band is $75 -$100 an hour.
