Altarum is hiring a
Remote Capture Analyst
\n\nAt Altarum, we work at the intersection of strategy, health impact, and innovation. We help public sector and health-focused organizations solve complex challenges that improve lives and strengthen communities.\nWeโre looking for a highly organized, analytical, and proactive Capture Analyst to help strengthen how we identify, prepare for, and pursue strategic business development opportunities.\nThis is a great role for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, supporting cross-functional teams, conducting research, and helping important opportunities move forward before the proposal stage begins.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Role\nAs a Capture Analyst, youโll support the operational backbone of Altarumโs capture efforts across multiple divisions. Youโll help coordinate workflows, conduct market and competitive research, maintain capture documentation and CRM data, support pipeline visibility, and keep teams organized throughout the opportunity lifecycle.\nThis role is focused primarily on the pre-RFP stage, the work that happens before a request for proposals is released and before proposal writing begins. Youโll help teams better understand upcoming opportunities, prepare earlier, track key actions, and make more informed pursuit decisions.\nThis is not a traditional sales role or capture ownership role. Instead, it is a high-impact coordination, intelligence, and enablement position for someone energized by research, organization, process improvement, and mission-driven growth.\n\n\nWhat You'll Do\n\n\nSupport active capture efforts through coordination, tracking, documentation, and follow-through across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.\n\nConduct market, agency, and competitive intelligence research to support opportunity identification, qualification, strategic positioning, and advance preparation.\n\nPartner with Proposal and Opportunity Management team members to support early review and pre-qualification of future or forecasted opportunities.\n\nMaintain pipeline and capture documentation, workflows, and opportunity data within CRM platforms; experience with Zoho CRM is a plus.\n\nHelp facilitate capture review meetings, gate reviews, action tracking, and opportunity prioritization discussions.\n\nBuild and maintain capture tools, templates, job aids, and process documentation to improve consistency and adoption across teams.\n\nSupport growth reporting and pipeline health tracking, including KPIs, forecasts, and other visibility tools.\n\nUse AI-enabled tools and research platforms to support market analysis, agency research, opportunity forecasts, and capture preparation.\n\nPartner with division leaders, capture teams, and proposal colleagues to improve operational discipline, visibility, and execution across pursuits.\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nWeโre looking for someone who is organized, curious, collaborative, and comfortable helping teams move complex opportunities forward. This role is a strong fit for someone who has supported capture, business development, proposal, or pursuit activities and enjoys the operational side of growth: research, coordination, CRM hygiene, action tracking, and process improvement. \n \nYou may be a strong fit if you have:\n\n\n3+ years of experience supporting capture, business development, proposal operations, growth operations, market research, or related functions.\n\nExposure to federal and/or state government contracting environments.\n\nExperience working in public health, Health & Human Services, healthcare, or adjacent mission-focused sectors. \n\nBachelorโs degree in Business, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams at the same time.\n\nThe ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and drive follow-through without direct authority.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and organize information clearly.\n\nExperience conducting market research, opportunity analysis, competitive intelligence, business development support, or pipeline support.\n\nStrong attention to detail and an execution-oriented mindset.\n\nExperience working with CRM systems and maintaining accurate, actionable opportunity data.\n\nPractical experience using AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, pWin.ai, or similar tools to support research, analysis, or workflow efficiency.\n\n\n\n\n\nEven Better if You Bring\n\nFamiliarity with market intelligence and procurement research sources such as USASpending, SAM.gov, agency forecasts, GovWin, HigherGov, LinkedIn, or similar tools.\n\nExperience supporting pre-RFP capture activities, opportunity qualification, gate reviews, pipeline reviews, or pursuit planning.\n\nExperience helping prepare opportunity briefs, competitor summaries, agency profiles, budget research, or capture support materials.\n\nAbility to translate research and market insights into practical recommendations for capture, proposal, or business development teams.\n\nExperience with Zoho CRM or similar CRM platforms.\n\nComfort improving tools, templates, job aids, trackers, or process documentation.\n\n\n\n\nWhere You'll Work\n\n\n* Remote with occasional in-person collaboration days\n\n* If youโre near one of our offices (Arlington, VA; Silver Spring, MD; or Novi, MI), youโll join us in person one day every other month (6 times per year) for a fun, purpose-driven Collaboration Day. These days are filled with creative energy, meaningful connection, and team brainstorming!\n\n* Non-local employees will join these days virtually and may be asked to join us occasionally in-person.\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy Join Altarum?\nAt Altarum, your work contributes to meaningful impact across healthcare, public health, and human services. Youโll join a collaborative, mission-driven organization where thoughtful problem-solving, innovation, and continuous improvement are valued.\nIn this role, youโll help strengthen how Altarum identifies and prepares for opportunities that support healthier communities and better public systems. Your work will bring clarity, structure, and insight to the pursuit process, helping teams focus their time and energy on opportunities where we can make a difference.\n\n\nWork Eligibility & Requirements\n\n\nCandidates must be currently eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.\n\n* All work must be performed within the continental U.S. for the duration of employment, unless required by contract.\n\n* Ability to work core hours aligned with Eastern Time, unless otherwise approved by your manager.\n\n* Remote employees must maintain a dedicated, ergonomically appropriate workspace free from distractions, with reliable internet and a mobile device that supports efficient work.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n$73,071 - $94,000 a year\nAt Altarum, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors and rely on market indicators to get it right. Individual compensation packages are based on numerous factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. This salary range is not a guarantee of compensation, as the final offer amount will vary based on these factors.\n \nIn addition to base salary compensation, Altarum Enterprise employees enjoy the following benefits:\n \n- Competitive Medical, Dental and Optical plans\n- Generous Paid Time Off, 8 Company observed holidays plus 3 floating holidays\n- Tuition Assistance\n- 401K Plan (3% employer contribution plus opportunity for gainsharing)\n- Life, AD&D & Disability coverage\n- A flexible work environment and more!\n\n\n\n\nAltarum is a nonprofit organization focused on improving the health of individuals with fewer financial resources and populations disenfranchised by the health care system. We work primarily on behalf of federal and state governments to design and implement solutions that achieve measurable results. We combine our expertise in public health and health care delivery with technology development and implementation, practice transformation, training and technical assistance, quality improvement, data analytics, and applied research and evaluation.
