\nWe're looking for a part-time Computer Science Technical Editor to work with new authors.\n\nYou'll be reviewing articles and providing technical feedback.\n\nBudget and Time Commitment\n\nYou're going to be working with 7-8 authors to help them with their articles.\n\nAn article usually takes about two rounds of review until it's ready to go. All of this usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes of work for a small to a medium article and can take 60 minutes for larger writeups. Overall, you'll spend somewhere around 10 hours/month.\n\nThe budget for the position is 600$ / month. Note that this is the starting level in the budget. Then, based on your metrics – there are other levels internally.\n\nAdditional Details\n\nThe goal is to make sure that the article hits a high level of quality before it gets published. That means that the code examples should be runnable and correct and that the formatting and style match the guidelines of the site.\n\nBeyond formatting and style, articles should be code-focused, clean and easy to understand. Sometimes an article is almost there, but not quite – and the author needs to be guided towards a better solution or a better way of explaining some technical concepts.\n\nWho is the right candidate?\n\nFirst – you need to be active in the Computer Science area yourself, teaching or working in R&D departments. All of these articles are code-centric, so being in the trenches and able to code is instrumental.\n\nSecond – and it almost goes without saying – you should have a good command of the English language. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Teaching and English jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $110,000/year\n

\nWe're looking for a part-time Java/Spring Technical Editor to work with new authors.\n\nYou'll be reviewing articles and providing technical feedback (in video form - usually a short, 5-minute screencast is enough).\n\nBudget and Time Commitment\n\nYou're going to be working with 6-7 authors to help them with their articles.\n\nAn article usually takes about two rounds of review until it's ready to go. All of this usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes of work for a small to a medium article and can take 60 minutes for larger writeups.\n\nOverall, you'll spend somewhere around 10 hours/month.\n\nThe budget for the position is 600$ / month. \n\nNote that this is the starting level in the budget. Then, based on your metrics – there are 3 other levels internally.\n\nAdditional Details\n\nThe goal is to make sure that the article hits a high level of quality before it gets published. That means that the code examples should be runnable and correct and that the formatting and style match the guidelines of the site.\n\nBeyond formatting and style, articles should be code-focused, clean, and easy to understand. Sometimes an article is almost there, but not quite – and the author needs to be guided towards a better solution or a better way of explaining some technical concept.\n\nWho is the right candidate?\n\nFirst – you need to be a developer yourself, working or actively involved in the Java and Spring ecosystem. All of these articles are code-centric, so being in the trenches and able to code is instrumental.\n\nSecond – and it almost goes without saying – you should have a good command of the English language. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Java, English and Video jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $115,000/year\n
\n\n#Benefits\n ๐Ÿ’ฐ 401(k)\n\n๐ŸŒŽ Distributed team\n\nโฐ Async\n\n๐Ÿค“ Vision insurance\n\n๐Ÿฆท Dental insurance\n\n๐Ÿš‘ Medical insurance\n\n๐Ÿ– Unlimited vacation\n\n๐Ÿ– Paid time off\n\n๐Ÿ“† 4 day workweek\n\n๐Ÿ’ฐ 401k matching\n\n๐Ÿ” Company retreats\n\n๐Ÿฌ Coworking budget\n\n๐Ÿ“š Learning budget\n\n๐Ÿ’ช Free gym membership\n\n๐Ÿง˜ Mental wellness budget\n\n๐Ÿ–ฅ Home office budget\n\n๐Ÿฅง Pay in crypto\n\n๐Ÿฅธ Pseudonymous\n\n๐Ÿ’ฐ Profit sharing\n\n๐Ÿ’ฐ Equity compensation\n\nโฌœ๏ธ No whiteboard interview\n\n๐Ÿ‘€ No monitoring system\n\n๐Ÿšซ No politics at work\n\n๐ŸŽ… We hire old (and young)\n\n

\nI am looking for a part-time Java/Spring Developer to work with me on producing videos.\n\nYou'll be creating and producing educational videos (screencasts) on various Spring topics.\n\n\nBudget and Time Commitment\n\nOverall, you’ll spend around 12 hours for an hour of video and the budget for an hour of video is 1000$.\n\nOf course, the process will be slightly slower initially depending on your experience with speaking, editing, etc; as you get a handle on it, it will definitely become faster.\n\n\nAdditional Details\n\nYou'll be working on screencasts focused on various Java and Spring topics.\n\nHere's how the process will work for a new video - for example - a 10 min screencast.\n\nI'll provide a quick sample project and a high level overview of the main points to hit in the video.\n\nYou'll go through the project to understand it and then you'll do the recording. After a quick editing pass you'll send me the draft and I'll provide feedback.\n\nFinally - you'll make some (minimal) changes based on my feedback.\n\nGenerally, for 10 minutes of video, expect about 2 hours of work.\n\nHere’s the Baeldung YouTube channel to get a better idea of what these videos look like. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Java, Developer, Digital Nomad and Video jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $122,500/year\n

\nWe're looking for a part-time Java/Spring Technical Editor to work with new authors.\n\nYou'll be guiding authors by reviewing their articles and giving them technical feedback (in video form - usually a short, 5 minute screencasts is enough).\n\n\nBudget and Time Commitment\n\nOverall, you’ll spend around 12-14 hours / month and the budget is 600$ / month.\n\nThis corresponds to a target of 12 - 16 articles / month (12 x 1250 words or 16 x 1000 words articles).\n\nThe typical article will take about 2 rounds of review until it’s ready to go. All of this usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes of work for a small to medium article and can take 60 to 90 minutes for larger pieces.\n\n\nAdditional Details\n\nThe goal is to make sure that the article hits a high level of quality before it gets published.\n\nThat means that the code examples should be runnable and correct, and that the formatting and style matches the guidelines of the site. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Java and Video jobs that are similar:\n\n $65,000 — $107,500/year\n
