Is that you?\n\nIf you're a sports enthusiast (ideally football) and a talented engineer, with good working knowledge in developing and running highly performant websites and web apps using React and VueJS, we could be your ideal place to work! \n\n\nThe Role: \n\nOur Engineers are the backbone of the business, working together with the data science and product teams to create experiences, tools and functionality that drives efficiency internally, amplifies fan engagement externally, and delights our partners and clients commercially! It's exciting and fast paced and you’ll be given a wide range of responsibilities, including: \n\n\n\n* Building out the embedded React components used directly on our customer sites, ensuring we provide highly performant, beautiful content \n\n* Working with our data science team to productise sport analytics concepts \n\n* Building out rapid prototypes of product ideas to allow us to test them before committing the resources needed to fully productise them \n\n* We are a DevOps environment, so you’ll write solid, well-tested code to ensure that all your time is spent working on new features and not maintaining existing code \n\n* You’ll provide guidance and code reviews to more junior team members \n\n* You take ownership of the development of new features on both the website and web apps - finalising requirements, prototyping, and realising the vision together with the rest of the team\n\n* Helping to improve our product by suggesting and implementing improved ways to code an amazing customer experiences \n\n* Writing clean, efficient, reusable code, learning new technologies and building works of art\n\n\n\n\n\nThe technologies you’ll be exposed to:\n\nReact, Typescript, VueJS, HTML, SASS/CSS,  Golang, Python, some PHP, Protractor, Jasmine,\nJQuery.\n\n\nAbout you:\n\nWe believe that everyone has something to contribute, however in order to get the most from this opportunity you are likely to demonstrate the following skills and experience: \n\n\n\n* You’ll be experienced in building software from the ground up in React and will have an appreciation for other frontend Javascript frameworks\n\n* You’ll be a good communicator, dedicated to producing clean well tested and structured code\n\n* Agile methodologies and practices (TDD, CI/CD) are your staple and preferred working methodologies\n\n* You’ll have some experience deploying and supporting your applications in cloud-based production environments such as AWS\n\n* You have a good eye for design and particularly UX - you care about making your apps look and work beautiful\n\n* You have a can do attitude and are keen to share your knowledge\n\n* A basic understanding of backend development (to help in rapid prototyping) would also be of interest, but is not a requirement. \n\n* You are based either in the UK, or on the east coast of Canada\n\n\n\n\n\nBenefits:\n\nWorking for Sport Whispers offers many perks, but the key thing is that we are a talented\nteam with a passion for the product we are building, but also; \n\n\n\n\n* Work remotely, with allowance for co-working space membership if you would like it.
