\nMeet The Team: \n\nThis person will sit on the Requirements and Analysis team within the Product Safety and Release organization. The Senior Systems Engineer - Safety will analyze hazards and risks, perform safety analyses, derive requirements, and develop the safety case for autonomous driving. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat You'll Do: \n\n\n* Collaborate with the Product and System Engineering teams to identify and evaluate hazards related to Safety Of The Intended Functionality (SOTIF according to ISO 21448).\n\n* Support analysis and evaluation of Acceptance Criteria for identified SOTIF hazards.\n\n* Collaborate with the Product and System Engineering teams to perform the hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA) according to ISO 26262.\n\n* Analyze and evaluate the Fault Tolerant Time Interval (FTTI) for identified hazards.\n\n* Perform inductive and deductive safety analyses for system, hardware, and software.\n\n* Contribute to the development of the Safety Case including definition and tracking of Safety Performance Indicators.\n\n* Work with internal business partners such as the Systems Engineering team to establish alignment on safety processes and methods. \n\n* Conduct and support reviews of safety artifacts applying appropriate level of rigor to review process.\n\n\n\n\nWhat Youโll Need to Succeed: \n\n\n* Degree(s) in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with relevant experience.\n\n\n* Master of Science degree with 3+ years of experience or a Bachelor of Science degree and 6+ years of experience \n\n\n\n\n\n* Extensive experience with safety analyses such as HAZOP, FMEA, STPA, and FTA. \n\n* Solid understanding of industry standards and best practices related to autonomous technologies. \n\n* Demonstrated experience working according to key industry standards such as Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Safety Of The Intended Functionality (ISO 21448). \n\n* Systems thinking with underlying engineering knowledge of the complex physical and software systems used in autonomy technologies. \n\n* Knowledge in the following disciplines: software engineering, networking, electrical and mechanical systems, system components, and artificial intelligence/machine learning. \n\n* Position requires occasional travel to Torc locations, government locations, etc. \n\n\n\n\nBonus Points! \n\n\n* Understanding of agile and software development life cycle processes. \n\n* Excel in critical thinking to identify problems and problem-solving and analytical thinking to solve complex safety issues. \n\n* Understanding and experience applying safety data and statistical methods to develop criteria and thresholds. \n\n\n\n\nPerks of Being a Full-time Torcโr\n\nTorc cares about our team members and we strive to provide benefits and resources to support their health, work/life balance, and future.
