\nRole Summary:\n\nThe Principal Scientist, Bioinformatics Data Science, is a critical contributor to data analytics and engineering focused on accelerating our R&D programs and expanding our FORCEโข therapeutic delivery platform. Working alongside biological, platform, and translational scientists, the Scientist will apply expertise in applied computational research, AI, and machine learning to extract insights from integrated clinical, โomics and other data sets.\n\nA successful candidate in this role is an experienced data scientist with a proven track record in applying cutting-edge, advanced computational methods to drive innovative drug discovery and development. The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing a wide variety of data analytics and engineering approaches.\n\nThe candidate brings a data-driven mindset to assemble, integrate, and analyze diverse discovery, preclinical, and clinical data to drive next-generation delivery technologies and identify new therapeutic opportunities. As a computational subject-matter expert, the Scientist will work across the full life cycle of multiple drug discovery and development programs.\n\nThe Principal Scientist will be a core team member with a key role in growing and leading the Data Sciences function and will be responsible for representing Data Sciences internally and externally at senior leadership forums, at scientific conferences, and through peer-reviewed articles.\n\nThis is a full-time position based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being remote\nPrimary Responsibilities Include: \n\n\n* Developing computational methods for analysis and integration of genetic and high-dimensional โomics data for target and biomarker discovery\n\n* Selecting and implementing cutting-edge AI and machine learning approaches applied to diverse internal and external data sets\n\n* Working closely with our Neuromuscular Disease biology teams to support our clinical programs in understanding disease pathology and advancing our next generation of development candidates\n\n* Partnering with our Platform Development teams to contribute to the evolution of our FORCEโข platform and the identification and validation of new therapeutic opportunities\n\n* Refining, and extending computational workflows for innovative data analytics and visualizations\n\n* Delivering high-quality analytical results and scientific excellence while fostering a culture of teamwork, transparency, and accountability\n\n* Contributing to the preparation of abstracts, posters, and papers for internal and external presentation\n\n\n\n\nEducation and Skill Requirements: \n\n\n* PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, applied mathematics or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience\n\n* Expert coding ability in R and/or python with application to data science, omics data analysis and visualization\n\n* Strong familiarity with statistical methodology and concepts underlying AI and machine learning in multi-modal, high-dimensional data\n\n* Strong foundation in up-to-date computational methodology commonly used in biomedical/biological domains\n\n* Ability to quickly adapt to new disease areas, therapeutic modalities, and experimental research methodologies\n\n* Exceptional ability to communicate complex analytical and technical concepts with clarity to diverse audiences through verbal, visual, and written media\n\n* A confident innovator that leverages critical scientific thinking to drive clear and decisive decision-making\n\n* Analytical, with a track record of delivering against goals while working in high performing, diverse teams\n\n* Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with the ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and to manage multiple shifting priorities\n\n* Strong record of research accomplishments with relevant publications, presentations, and/or patents\n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n#LI-Onsite \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
