We will become a content partner and a thought leader in building solutions for Market Data, On-Chain Data, and Analytics.\n\nAbout this role:\n\nCoinDesk Indices is looking for entrepreneurial index and data sales professionals to lead day-to-day commercial efforts. This is an opportunity to build a pillar in a new asset category that is redefining the financial sector. A strong candidate would have experience selling index licenses and index data to financial institutions. They will thrive when the product or the category is new and sometimes complicated, educating and advising potential clients. \nResponsibilities:\n\n\nEstablish new relationships and build out a pipeline of new licensing and revenue opportunities.\n\nForecast and uncover opportunities with clients and prospects in multiple business categories. \n\nCollaborate with executives to develop a scalable commercial and revenue plan for the index and data business.\n\nDevelop and close outside lead sources with institutional firms (asset managers, proprietary trading firms, hedge funds, exchanges, and financial data vendors). \n\nMaintain and upsell new products to well-established relationships, create a strong network and a reputation that allows interaction with the institutional firms using CoinDesk Indexes products.\n\nBe an advisor to clients, internal product managers, and engineering teams in order to gather and prioritize feedback on new products.\n\nEducate prospects about crypto markets; provide helpful crypto commentary and resources.\n\nAssess the competitive environment and compile regular analyses for executive review.\n\nCollaborate with the Head of Product and Sales to translate clients' and prospects' feedback into effective go-to-market, and messages.\n\nMeet or exceed revenue team targets.\n\nTrack all activities: calls, conversations, contracts, etc., accurately and qualify opportunities. \n\nAttend conferences and client meetings both virtual and, as COVID safety protocols allow, in person, traveling as needed and as safety permits.\n\n\n\nRequirements:\n\n\nMinimum of 5 + years of business development and sales experience in the financial sector. \n\nDeep knowledge and interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.\n\nResults-oriented business leader with a proven track record.\n\nExperience driving brand and business objectives and managing relationships.\n\nIndustry relationships that are current and well-developed.\n\nExcellent practices in client relationship management and processes. \n\nAbility to collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise.\n\nAbility to plan, record and manage activities effectively.\n\n\n\n\n\nIn compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the potential salary for this position is from $160,000 to $200,000 which represents a range commensurate with experience.\n\n\n\nEQUAL OPPORTUNITY\n\nIn an effort to attract, retain, develop and promote the most qualified individuals, CoinDesk is committed to treating all applicants and employees in a nondiscriminatory manner with respect to the terms and conditions of employment, without regard to race, color, religion or belief, sex, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status/service, physical or mental disability, or any other classification protected by applicable law.
