\nWe're looking for a talented and driven Human Data Manager to join our team and make a real impact on the development of our products. In this role, you will guide and mentor a large team of AI tutors while maintaining data integrity. The ideal candidate is passionate about AI technologies and has a strong background in data curation, attention to detail, technical expertise in AI and ML concepts, and exceptional leadership and communication skills.\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nTeam Leadership and Development\n\n\n* Guide and mentor a large team of tutors, providing direction and support to ensure data integrity.\n\n* Conduct performance analyses, identify areas for improvement, and implement training initiatives.\n\n* Foster a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and employee engagement through development initiatives and performance reviews.\n\n* Develop and create strategies, including gamification elements, to motivate and recognize team members who exceed expectations.\n\n\n\n\nProject Management and Coordination\n\n\n* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine project scope, objectives, and quality control guidelines.\n\n* Support the accurate projections and detailed timelines for efficient project execution.\n\n* Prioritize tasks, adjust resources, and manage the project flow to address blockers and ensure timely delivery.\n\n* Optimize resource allocation by distributing tasks and personnel across projects.\n\n\n\n\nData Quality and Integrity\n\n\n* You’re not afraid to dive into the data and get in the trenches to understand labeling inefficiencies.\n\n* Ensure the integrity and security of data throughout the annotation process.\n\n* Analyze data and evaluation sets to identify key findings, communicate insights effectively, and suggest actionable improvements based on model behaviors.\n\n* Maintain active communication with project leads, providing updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.\n\n* Encourage the sharing of best practices and lessons learned among team members to foster continuous improvement.\n\n\n\n\nTechnical Collaboration and Innovation\n\n\n* Interact and collaborate with technical teams to develop or refine internal tooling that supports project objectives.\n\n* Stay informed of the latest industry trends and technologies that could impact data curation processes.\n\n* Contribute to the development and optimization of annotation tools and methodologies.\n\n\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n\n* Strong background in data curation or related fields, with hands-on experience in data quality and labeling processes.\n\n* Technical expertise in AI and machine learning concepts, tools, and practices.\n\n* Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data sets, identify trends and anomalies, and provide actionable insights.\n\n* Proven leadership experience, with the ability to guide and mentor teams.\n\n* Strong communication skills, capable of effectively articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.\n\n* Detail-oriented approach, ensuring high-quality outputs and overseeing project-wide quality standards.\n\n* Experience in creating and maintaining documentation for technical processes, guidelines, and training materials.\n\n* Bachelors degree.\n\n\n\n\nIf you are passionate about AI, have a strong focus on data integrity, are scrappy, and possess the skills to lead and develop a high-performing team, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.\nBenefits\n\nWe offer the following employee benefits:\n\n\n* Competitive cash and equity-based compensation\n\n* Medical, dental, and vision insurance\n\n* Unlimited paid time off subject to prior approval\n\n\n\n\nAnnual Salary Range: $104,000 to $163,000\n\nLocation: Remote or San Francisco, CA / Palo Alto, CA\n\n
