\n\n\nIf your passion for cinema equals your interest in storytelling for games, and you're as adept with a camera as with visual scripting, this role is perfect for you.\n\nBit Reactor is looking for a Cinematic Designer to support the setup, integration, and maintenance of real-time, in-engine cutscenes. This role requires working with the Cinematic and Narrative Teams and communicating across various departments to problem-solve and ensure cinematic content is easily implemented into the engine while meeting the artistic goals and avoiding conflicts with other aspects of the game. You must have a sense of how gameplay and cinematics work together to create unified experience and emotionally compelling moments.\n\n \nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\n* Create compelling scenes with excellent pacing, acting, cinematography, editing and timing.\n\n* Script in-game cinematic and gameplay moments using Blueprint and Sequencer.\n\n* Integrate cinematic content into Unreal Engine.\n\n* Prototyping and communicating the needs for cinematics across multiple disciplines\n\n* Communicate with Designers, Artists, Lighting, and VFX to ensure the readability of visual storytelling and to ensure that the cinematics you implement blend seamlessly into the gameplay.\n\n* Debug potential problems in and around cinematics. \n\n* Following and maintaining pipelines and technical requirements while identifying opportunities for tool improvements and efficiencies.\n\n* Participate in reviews, stand-ups, playtests, and work across departments.\n\n* Provide accurate time estimates for tasks and meet production deadlines .\n\n* Guide locked scenes to final while achieving technical efficiency and supporting asset performance and validation.\n\n\n\n \nREQUIREMENTS\n\n\n* Minimum 3 years of development experience working in interactive cinematics for games.\n\n* Experience with cinematic language, frame composition, pacing, tone, and narrative structure.\n\n* Strong understanding of Unreal Engine 4 or 5 including Sequencer, Blueprints as it pertains to cinematic moments, visual scripting, and asset integration.\n\n* Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.\n\n* Familiarity with Autodesk Maya, MotionBuilder, and video editing software is a plus.\n\n* Used to collaborating with colleagues across different departments to clearly communicate and present ideas.\n\n* Familiarity with branching dialogue and RPG interaction mechanics.\n\n\n\n\n \nBit Reactor prefers to hire candidates who are willing to relocate to Hunt Valley, Maryland, but is open to remote options.\n\n\nBit Reactor, LLC is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, ancestry, color, citizenship, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, legally protected physical or mental disability, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
