\nXometry is looking to add an experienced cost estimator to our Pre-Sales Engineering team. The Application Engineer, Partner Quoting is responsible for client quoting, supplier sourcing, production planning, and supporting on-time order fulfillment. A successful candidate will have at least 8 to 10 years of experience in a machining/manufacturing quoting environment. The position will require competencies that include CAD proficiency, CNC machining/manufacturing experience (which includes multiple axis milling, turning, welding, grinding, EDM etc.), experience communicating CNC designs for manufacturability feedback, costing, and sound technical communication aptitude. \n\n Day to Day Responsibilities:\n\n\n* Analyze engineering models/drawings to define the sequence of manufacturing operations to ensure that the design intent and component quality can be achieved.\n\n* Make proper estimations, taking into consideration such factors as materials, tooling, manufacturing times, inspection times, and types of equipment required.\n\n* Work closely with Machinists, Quality, Engineering, Management, and other team members to successfully satisfy the end customer.\n\n* Experience with sourcing material and finishes.\n\n* CNC machining/manufacturing cost estimating experience on prototype, low volume, and high-volume quantities.\n\n\n\n\n Must Have Knowledge of:\n\n\n* Multitude of CNC machining/manufacturing technologies\n\n* Must have experience and/or extensive knowledge with programming and set up of CNC machines (3/4/5 axis milling, CNC lathes, live tooling lathes, Swiss machines etc) and simple custom tooling knowledge.\n\n* Preferable knowledge of welding, grinding, wire EDM, assemblies, finishing etc.\n\n* Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)\n\n* Protocols, standards, technologies, and machining applications.\n\n* Reviewing customer RFQs to determine material requirements, processing and job routing.\n\n* Communicating with customers to accurately define requirements and expectations.\n\n* Work with outside vendors/services to achieve the best possible prices and solutions.\n\n* Consolidating all outside costs and internal costs associated with process time in engineering, manufacturing, finishing, and QC.\n\n* Creating detailed quote packages for final review.\n\n* Managing quote logs daily and KPI tracking\n\n\n\n\n Ability to:\n\n\n* Interrogate engineering solid models, drawings and is familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).\n\n* Manipulate / modify solid models.\n\n* Provide technical support to machinists and process engineers during CNC manufacturing operations.\n\n* Demonstrate excellent organizational discipline.\n\n* Communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writing.\n\n* Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.\n\n* Effectively review and analyze DFM (design for manufacturing) problems.\n\n* Operate effectively in a team environment.\n\n\n\n\n#LI-Remote \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
