Remote Art Director

By thinking beyond briefs and imagining approaches our clients may not have asked for – or even thought possible – you’ll be helping to build AKQA’s reputation for work that is both ground-breaking and influential.</p>\n<p>AKQA Tokyo in particular aims to strengthen the organization and create a better future for the brand, aspiring to be Japan's premier creative agency. We are eagerly seeking companions to take on such challenges together.</p>\n<p>ROLE REQUIREMENTS</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possess not just exceptional art direction skills, but the ability to implement strategic and conceptual thinking as well.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with copywriters, strategists, UX/visual designers and technologists to develop innovative and persuasive concepts.</li>\n<li>Drive the development of creative ideas for new business pitches and other important agency initiatives.</li>\n<li>Leads by example to inspire colleagues to originate pioneering ideas that deliver successful solutions.</li>\n<li>Be accountable for the project design deliverables and manage the quality of all design deliverables to ensure they meet AKQA standards for creative excellence.</li>\n<li>Embrace challenges and inspire new ways of thinking.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS</p>\n<ul>\n<li>A compelling portfolio that demonstrates the breadth of your conceptual thinking and design craft.</li>\n<li>Exceptional communication skills that enable you to articulate the ‘why’ behind your concepts.</li>\n<li>You have a drive to break boundaries and craft the best ideas of their kind in the world.</li>\n<li>You are passionate, driven and obsessed about your craft and stay on top of best practice in your field.</li>\n<li>Natural curiosity that allows you to find inspiration in anything and everything, with an especially keen eye on the future of media and technology.</li>\n<li>Strong industry experience.</li>\n<li>Relevant tertiary education. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>AKQA is an Equal Opportunities Employer, we believe that diversity is vital to AKQA’s ability to provide our clients with the best recommendations and are committed to fostering a varied and inclusive work environment.
