I started being a software developer in 2018 as an intern. My job was to maintain a legacy dot net application, and my days were filled with SQL queries and building new features in this ecosystem. When my internship was about to end, I suggested a system rewrite and I spent the next year designing and developing the first version. This update saved about 60% infrastructure costs per year and led to a nearly 30% improvement in delivery time.
In my next (and current role), I would start as a Software developer for a bigger company that works with SaaS. Since the beginning, my goal was to be a focal point for our interns and less experienced developers. I was gradually turned into a Tech Lead in about 1 year. My greatest achievement was leading a study case for a big governmental agency that was successfully turned into a full contract worth over 5 million reais (about 1 million dollars). Despite being focused on helping my team, I never stopped coding and refining my skill set over those last 3 years.
