Certified Scrum Master and Experienced Game Designer.

Over the past eight years I have worked on game development client projects, analysed AI data for Amazon, founded a small 3D printing business out of my own home and co-founded a small game development studio: Quantum Works.

During my time at university, I secured a position at Reagent Games as a Games Tester, later moving to Ruffian Games, now known as Rockstar Dundee. Whilst in this role I helped and lead aspects of the Quality Assurance Testing team. This in turn lead to a responsibility of being a liaison between the different heads of departments to the testing team. Gathering, consolidating and presenting feedback from the testing team on focus tested elements of in development projects. In my third and final year of university I was project lead for the professional client project. It was my sole responsibility to lead the team and coordinate the creative direction to realise our concept across the various disciplines included in the team: programmers, artists, fellow designers and sound engineers. I worked hand-in-hand with the client, the CEO of Futurlabs, communicating daily to realise one of their game concepts. The prototype was received so well that it was pitched at GDC 2019, to various industry leading publishers.

Moving to the much warmer south of England, I was headhunted by a recruiting company for a Data Analyst position within Amazonโ€™s Machine learning department, PrimeAir. My role was to review and correct datasets collected by the prototype delivery drones, detailing to the drones what it is they are seeing and how to react. I was recognised for my work that I was promoted to a full-time employee of Amazon from an agency contractor.

Operating a one-person business was a lesson in working under pressure and required gold standard in bookkeeping, organisation and prioritisation. I solely managed the e-commerce, order fulfilment and customer communication. The business saw a rapid rise in success, quickly becoming a 'Star Seller' on Etsy - where you become recognised and promoted by Etsy themselves based on customer feedback and communication, dispatching on time and product quality. The experience was very rewarding, reinforced by customer feedback, and is something I am saddened to have to step away from.

In the early months of 2021 I, along with four friends and colleagues started Quantum Works. I lead various elements of the Design and Production, communicating with international 3rd party development teams and facilitating communication between them, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met. Alongside my Co-Principal Designer, I concepted and lead the design of the core systems of the game. Prototyped, problem solved and championed the core tenets of the game. Our primary production tools were UE4/UE5, Maya, GitHub/GitLab and the Atlassian suite, allowing us to quickly prototype proof of concepts, with iterative and agile methodologies to present this to and work closely with our 3rd party programmers, artists and any other stakeholder. A portion of my time each week was budgeting and aligning development cycles with business needs, working diligently across the development and corporate teams to ensure both sides are unified and working to meet deadlines on deliverables.
